Rude, discriminatory reception staff that don’t even let you see a doctor or care about your wellbeing, stay at your home doctors if you’re attending the uni here. Would score less than a star if I could.

So hard to book an in person appointment it’s all over the phone and it’s so hard to get through. I went in the other day and asked at reception if I could book there and they said yes. I told them my issue and she then said they only had appointments in two weeks and I had to phone at 8am to get a same day one instead. Do you think if I’m ill I can get up to do that? Just for one call?I have been unwell for about two months with tonsillitis that has been getting worse and when I told the receptionist this she didn’t seem to care at all.I understand it is busy and the nurses and doctors I’ve spoken to have been lovely including some of the reception team over the phone however I’m not getting any better and I’m not getting the care I need. Everything is an over the phone appointment and sending photos of what’s wrong (which is hard to capture)I just want to feel better

on numerous occasions i haven’t had a phone call back to confirm appointments or for any test results, in January i was due to have my contraceptive implant changed and they said everything was on track however when i arrived for my appointment the nurse asked me if i had brought my own implant. I was confused and asked what she meant and it turned out that i needed to have been prescribed the implant to bring to my appointment myself. I’ve never heard of this before. I then had to wait until the end of February to receive my own implant from the pharmacy and for a new appointment because i was never prescribed one in the first place.

Don't get me wrong the actual doctors are good. But the reception team massively let them down. They can be so rude at times. I rang for an appointment and she then asked if I was unavailable at any point in the day as obviously I'm a student. Explained I couldn't take the call before half 10 and she told me she'd made note not to ring me before then. She didn't make this note and they rang twice before half 10 then marked me as dna and cancelled the appointment. Covid isn't affecting stuff any more. Why it can't just be like doctors services use to be where yoy rang and got a time to be at the building for an in person appointment I will never understand. But its not fair. Your a University doctors service there has to be an understanding that we have classes and exams where we can't take calls.

Worst medical practice in Lincoln if not the whole kingdom. Their advice, for a patient who's been trowing up for 24h straight, drink Lucozade and don't eat anything and he can keep going like this because the body can survive up to 3 weeks without food and only water and LUCOZADE. You can Google this of you don't believe me" she said when I was a bit skeptical about this advice. Overall they sent him home saying it's "all in his head" and he should go for a mental health check up."

Came in to the surgery last week regarding a build up of earwax, and was told that I would be able to have my ears syringed at the surgery. However, I never received a call as to when my syringing appointment would be, despite being told I would. I rang up the surgery only to be told ear syringing was unavailable at the surgery and they didn't know when they would be bringing it back. I ended up having to go private to have my ears syringed, when it could have been done there and then at the surgery for free. This is a joke of a surgery

Really poor service during my time as a student, and I've heard similar things/shocking stories from my peers. Lost my medical records and just don't seem to care. Doctors are good but receptionists seem to have a problem against students even though they are working at a service for students. Definitely avoid if you can.

Problems don’t get taken seriously. Constantly asked to see a doctor as I’m having a constant misdiagnosis problem and always get booked in with a rude nurse after being reassured I’m booked in with a doctor. One nurse told me that if my condition carried on they’re refer me to the hospital, when going back again the next nurse told me she was “afraid” to refer me to the hospital as she didn’t want to “be laughed at” - I was having chest pains.

29-07-22I’d like to personally thank Lesley Barnes who is one of the nurse practitioners. After opening up about a worry that was concerning me, she saw me face to face within the same day. She is ever so lovely and generally cared which made me feel comfortable to talk to her about some other personal things I’m currently dealing with. She listened to me which made me feel relieved that I have found someone who I can trust as I’ve had very bad experiences from doctors in the past. She is very professional in what she does and I personally would recommend her as this is the second time I’ve had some worries and both times she’s listened, gave good advice, sent me leaflet links and is happy to help if I need to talk to her again. Both times I’ve spoken to her, each conversation lasted longer than I expected which is fantastic because I felt like I can be open without feeling like I have to rush. This is another reason why she’s good at what she does because she generally cares for her patients. So I’d like to thank her as she deserves it.I’d like to thank Louise as well, she is a very kind nurse who took my blood tests and again very professional and looks after her patients well. Both receptionists who I sadly can’t remember their names, one was a lady and one was a man. Both times I’ve called they where kind and again professional. Lincoln University Doctors has definitely improved and I hope many patients will say the same.

After spending 4 years at this university, I've not had great experiences using this GP, and had similar issues to those expressed in reviews below. A really kind receptionist named Lauren, however, really gave me a great experience today. She was patient, understanding, and kind - which I think is an attitude that is really necessary at this practice as vulnerable students and recent graduates like myself have had a rough go of maneuvering this GP.Lauren helped me get ahold of my medical records for an issue I was facing with my new GP, and not only was she helpful, but she was just so kind during each phone call today. I really just want to commend Lauren on being understanding and patient. I'm sure others have felt the same surprise of being treated nicely when hearing her over the phone. Thanks Lauren :)
