Lovely place to stay. We really enjoy the hut as a stopover from Aberdeen to Cambridgeshire. Very clean and cosy even when you're woken up by flurry of snow the next day. Hosts are very friendly! Will definitely use again.

Very friendly, lovely room with television and tea making facilities, big cooked breakfast and gave us a lift into town. 0.5km off Hadrian's Wall path, also close to Lanercost Priory (English Heritage)

We stayed in the Shepherds Hut as part of the Hadrians Wall Walk. The Accomodation was fantastic. The Shepherds Hut had everything that we needed. We had a very warm welcome from Fiona and family who provided us with a wonderful home cooked meal and all the ingredients to cook breakfast in the morning. A high point of our trip

Very friendly and welcoming and absolutely beautiful location. The shepherds hut we stayed in was well equipped and comfortable and kept us warm even given the wintry weather. Only there for a night but would love to visit again for longer and enjoy some walks in the surrounding countryside.

Lovely quiet place to stay, you are near a river and below Hadrian's Wall. Food was very good and appreciated after a day walking.

Very welcoming! We phoned late afternoon, on the off chance of a room after a day's walking and were soon enjoying a hot shower. Although we were a last minute booking we were served a wonderful vegetarian lasagne and a delicious lemon cheesecake before collapsing into the enormous comfortable bed. Wonderful hosts, great value- thank-you!
