Milton Mausoleum

Lovely mausoleum and grounds. Parking is limited though so be prepared to pull up on the verge.

This beautiful place stands above the village of Milton and a stone's throw from West Markham amid open fields and has a wonderful sense of peacefulness. The diligent and friendly band of fundraisers and supporters do a fantastic job and have now raised enough money to bring electricity in to the building. This will open it up to so many more opportunities so more and more people can visit and not only hear the sad story of Georgiana and feel the tranquillity of her beautiful resting place but can come and enjoy the excellent events which now happen at regular intervals in the lighter months in a very special environment which will soon be warm and well lit in winter too. Everyone is made very welcome here and it is currently open on Sundays from 2.00-4.00pm May to September. You are welcome to this well-kept secret and it's store of history. Come in and feel its serenity. It is an important piece of our local history.

This stunning building is a hidden gem " a stone's throw from A1 at Markham Moor. It's history is both fascinating and moving.Open every Sunday in the summer

The actual building was closed but it is open between May to Sep every Sunday tween 2pm n 4pm. Sparse graveyard with seating for reflection. Also honoured on headstone some WW2 aircrew that sadly died in an aircraft crash nearby while making an emergency diversion. RIP
