Hi we returned to the venue.Alas nothing as changed .Food dry and tasteless steak over cooked and not as ordered.Chips were rock hard and cold,burger buns wet and inedible.Won’t be going backJust to say guys I have started to ask how many stars awarded on the hygiene chartI asked the girl behind the bar she said 5* and the card was in the front windowI couldn’t see it so sorry no photoYou would think with the cost of living being so high they would push the boat out a little but not there.

The best local pub. Dog friendly, great food, lovely staff. We're booked for Christmas day too with the dog... she says chicken breast please xx

We had a wonderful meal. The food was fantastic. My wife had the rids and chicken and she said they was so beautiful and very tasty. I had the mix grill and everything was cooked perfectly. I would really recommend this welcoming pub to anyone. . Can't wait to visit Holmes chapel again.

Essentially, we think this is the best place in Holmes Chapel for food and drinks. Extensive menu which caters for all tastes and appetites. The cottage pie is simply sensational - try it, you will not be disappointed! Better than we can do at home was our verdict last Saturday. We always have really good food here. Great service as always from what is clearly a a very dedicated and hard working team. The Red Lion is a real gem, try it - you won't be disappointed.

Great tasty good. Third time now that we have visited the Old Red Lion and on each occasion the food and service have been exemplary. Highly recommended! Reasonable prices as well.

We visited the Red Lion for dinner recently and had a good visit. It was busy so at the weekend I would recommend booking. Very reasonably priced food and drinks with good offers. The service was quite slow but they looked understaffed so not their fault. I would recommend ordering food & drink at the bar rather than through the app as this took substantially longer to arrive when done this way. Overall a good visit though and would return.

Food was good, served on time, cooked well. Drinks okay too. However, if you are going to serve kids food then PLEASE provide kids cutlery. The adult cutlery is too big for a 4 year old!

Great food, polite and helpful service, would like to to see more offers, IE if you have spent £60 plus on food, offer free coffee, plate of chips etc.

We had heard about the live music here on Wednesday afternoons and thought we'd give it a try. We were not disappointed!We had so much fun in the company of cheerful, talented musicians and also got a really warm welcome from the lovely locals too. The staff were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly and served up top quality drinks with a smile.Great atmosphere and a thoroughly enjoyable experience, we'll be back at the Old Red Lion soon!

Lovely atmosphere due to the older worldie feel of the place. Enjoyed our meals(although a minor criticism was the beef curry didn't have a lot of actual beef). Enjoyed it though.
