M I Garage

My car went in for its MOT today at Halfords and failed. This was due to a tyre that MI Garage fitted being fitted the wrong way round. This is very unsettling knowing that a garage could fit a tyre wrong. Very unsafe and very unhappy/disappointed that this has happened. Costing me extra money to fix and to pass my MOT. Would not recommend.

Went just under 2 weeks ago to get fault checked.Was told to book car in and will have a look and hopefully fix.Booked in 9am as instructedDropped car off, staff member was smoking while booking in carWas told would be in touch soon as car was looked atStraight forward diagnosis of ball joint and ABS pump so would of expected a call within the hour and work carried outNO call. NO contactShowed up couple hours before closing. Was told ball joint and maybe ABS pump fault.No explanation of why no contact was made.Told work could not be done and couldn't source partAsked to leave car ??????Front staff was absolutely cluless and obviously had no understanding of what was going onWas then told that there was a 30£ charge for diagnosis, was not mentioned before booking in.No diagnosis in writtingNot even a conversation or an explanation of what was wrongAbsolutely terrible experience and waste of time.Totally unprofessional and really disappointed.

Avoid, avoid, avoid!Tried to charge me £312 to fix my handbrake. This seemed extortionate and I called a few garages to ask for advice. All other garages agreed that this was exuberant - even for the work the garage 'claimed' needed carried out.I was still charged £45 for the Labour, but they damaged the brakes more after taking them off to 'inspect' them. I asked for the car back and asked where my car was. I was told 'somewhere on the main road'. I'd find it there!After taking my car to a reputable garage, they inspected the car thoroughly and within a few hours had fixed my handbrake and the damage caused by MI. They charged me £60!Yes, £252 pounds less than what was quoted by MI garage. Apparently they 'charge for everything to be replaced, despite the parts not needing replaced'. They told this to the mechanic that called them from the other garage after mistaking their mobile number for mine and discussing the work needing done on my car.I would strongly Advise you avoid this place unless you want ripped off and poor customer service!

Honest people in their dealings, and they have people with experience in doing car repairs at reasonable prices.

5 stars nothing less, Took my car in for a fault that even vw could not find but they found the fault and repaired it car running great again, And cheap prices,Thank you MI once again great job

Top service used this garage several times for multiple repairs and mots, never let me down!

No details as to what was happening. Charged plus 200 for things already checked and handled by other garages. Really unclear and not helpful. Car had oil change already done, but was charged another oil change that should not be charged. Workers Smoking whilst dealing with issue was not appropriate.

Been going here nearly 2 years now, had brakes done, suspension and shocks replaced, service and MOT, all done in good time and for a reasonable price. Owner knows his stuff and his staff are great and helpful.

Please do not go. I was ripped off. Went for MOT, Pathetic Customer service. They Never answer the call. they Replaced my car tyre saying its tread depth issue but when I asked the mechanic, He told me Tread depth was fine and due to some cracks he decide to replace which I don't believe as they are not old at all. Also they replaced some other parts which were not required. No explanation what so ever for work done.Was charged over £300. Paid all the balance but felt bad. Learnt my lesson.

Had booked the car for MOT for 9am. Was told car failed MOT at 10:30am. Was given a quote for two arm suspension replacement at a cost of £330 incl VAT. As it was urgent repair I gave the go ahead and was told parts will arrive in an hour and it would take couple of hours.Those couple of hours turned into 5 hours as the mechanic worked on my car and another car plus 'a wee chat ' breaks in between with colleagues. At the expense of the customer.The mechanic could not take a nut off as it was rusted so he decided to cut off the bracket and weld it on - which took an hour. Very unprofessional with lack of tools to do the repair.I was expecting it to be a 2 hour wait so I waited in their waiting room which was not fit for a human being let alone an animal and it was temperature controlled at -10 degrees.The finality comes when in the office around 4pm the lady says the price for the total work is £440. I was gobsmacked and unable to speak not just because of the 'rip off' shock but also cause my jaws were locked their freezer controlled waiting room.Anyway for their benefit 2 mechanics came to justify the extra cost by saying they 'could not take the nut off one of the suspension arm' hence it took extra time. So in essence it becomes the customers problem when M1Garage :-Does not have Proper toolsorQualified and professional workers.Mechanic worker on two cars at the same time and charging both customersWhile the car is not being worked on the garage still charging their hourly rateProviding unsanitary toilet and waiting area facilities in times of Covid-19By waiting for car repair from 9am to 4pm I found out the real work ethics and professionalism of M1 Garage which I would not want to experience again.R.I.P.
