I usually go to the Solihull branch but unfortunately they don’t do brunch there. Decided to come here, and the brunch was very mediocre. We had the brunch and added four sides. The cheesy jerk fries (side ) were undercooked and the “bottomless” cocktail which comes in a jug was watered down, I could hardly taste the white rum.The brunch area isn’t great for those who enjoy a quiet meal. It’s segregated from the rest of the restaurant and the table behind us was rowdy. The brunch is a cute and innovative idea but it could be a better experience. I also had to keep getting out of my seat to ask for additional things since the staff were hardly around that area!Atmosphere was non existent and the service wasn’t the best. Sorry but the Solihull branch puts this to shame.

Jamaya's never let's me down when hungry. Sunday roast is very yummy, apart from the cold Yorkshire pudding. Kids meal really is mini and is for a 5 year old, that was disappointing along with the size and price of the chocolate brownie. On a positive, great cocktails and the food is delicious and the service of James was excellent he really have us top service.

really lovely & clean restaurant. we went in the early afternoon so it was quite quiet. the staff were really nice & attentive (we were served by Quanay & James who were both amazing and helpful). the food was delicious & worth the price in my opinion. i ordered from the lunch menu (hot 1/4 jerk chicken with rice & peas & an extra side of gravy). didn’t order any cocktails but there were lots to choose from & they had 2 for 1 deals between 5pm-8pm. highly recommend

It’s in a nice location (City Centre) and has put a spin on the Jamaican dishes they serve. The service was pretty slow and the waitresses didn’t really seem inviting (I went on a Monday afternoon and they were not busy). The Mac and cheese was good but way too much seasoning was put on top. It would have been perfect if less seasoning was used overall but if more was used in the noodles. I loved the flavor on the chicken kabobs, just wish they had more chicken.

Customer service was very average. It did improve when the manager arrived on the floor. The kitchen ran out of the vegetarian option for the roast meal. This was not communicated until after drinks were ordered. When suggested it would have been a bit better to communicate this before the response was that it was not flagged on the reservation that diners were vegetarian. The kitchen were not very accommodating for an alternative. It was a shame as I was looking forward to the experience. Food was good value. Music was excellent.

(Halal food options) The food was great, so tasty and gives you a rush of energy, the waitresses despite them working hard, the number of people is more than what they can serve, so sometimes it takes them extra minutes to serve you, the music is great and the place is so colorful. I will definitely go again and recommend it to ppl i know.

Came here for the 1st time Sunday 1st Oct 2023.. and I was very impressed with the food I can’t wait to go back again.. we had the Fried wings they was 10/10.. the spicy mocktail my gosh that was divine..the cheesy chips finally proper cheesy chips.. the festivals cooked to perfection.. and don’t get me started on the Plaintain 1000/10 chefs kiss…plus the Mac and cheese tasted very good.. it’s been a while I have have that very satisfying feeling over over full and wanting to eat more because the food was soo good! I will be back here ASAP!!!!! one of the servers we had she was very miserable and not welcoming.. she’s in the wrong profession but other than that the atmosphere was lovely and the food and was tasty and hot in temperature and full of flavour

Having tried the main other 2 Caribbean restuarants in Birmingham City Centre, Jamaya is No.1. Let's start from the atmosphere, it is nicely decorated, full of vibrant colour and nice lighting, the staff are polite and nice on arrival, no miserable faces , smiles and laughs all round. We were seated and shortly after our server James (i asked his name, but i have completely forgot so i could have got the name wrong #fishbrain) came,he was a young man who was very helpful with choosing drinks and also helping to decide with the menu and gave his recommendations. There is an extensive menu and everything is reasonably priced considering it is the city centre. The only thing is the menu is all chicken based save for the vegetarian/vegan options. You will find no curry goat, oxtail etc. However the way I see it if your only going to do chicken then you need to do it well and it was much better than that....The drinks came relatively quickly and the food not long after that. The cocktails are amazing... I had 2, a blue one and a pineapple one cannot remember the names but both banging. They did mocktails which were also good. For my mains we all had as follows:Jerk chicken - perfectly seasoned, well cooked, soft, tender and tastyRice and peas - greatly done, moist and well preparedPlantain- perfectly ripe and cooked just how I like itMacaroni cheese - beautiful, full of cheese and baked to perfectionSweet potato fries - crispy and niceCoselaw - very good, creamy and niceFried chicken wings - banging, nicely coated, perfectly seasoned, crispy and tender some of the best wings I have triedFestival - fluffy and light mmmmCallaloo - well seasoned and niceJerk cheesy fries - my gosh i don't know what kinda magic they conjured up for these but I have never had such amazing fries... they were super crispy and had plenty cheese on which I like and the seasoning complemented it so well...Even my son ate well and he is one tough critic.. we were meant to share the plantain, he boxed it off before I even got one.. had to try another's.Overall an amazing experience, will I be back ... without a doubt.. now my favourite Caribbean.

I was unable to get a suitable photo of the meal due to it arriving at different times. We had to eat otherwise it would get cold if we waited for everything to come together. We were excited to come to this place however the service we received was very disappointing. The first dish took 45minutes to arrive (jerked chicken) I felt uncomfortable eating while my partner sat there with no food so I waited. It took 10 minutes for her food to arrive. Then another 5-10 minutes for all the sides to arrive. (The mac and cheese was good at least)The staff did not say anything to us about a kitchen delay, we had to go out of our way and ask “how long is the food going to take “.At the end of the meal we asked to speak to the manager however he chose not to come and speak to us and sent the second in command. We stressed that we wanted to speak to the main manager however he still did not come. This was very unprofessional. We will not be returning here, for a Saturday night they should have more kitchen staff and if there is a delay in food times they should inform customers.
