Portland Surveys

I found the service provided by Portland Surveys to be highly professional. The report I received from them was very detailed and informative, highlighting a number of issues. This has saved me from having to undertake a large amount of work and bear all the associated costs. I would recommend.

Recently used Mr Pidgeon from Portland to conduct a valuation survey. The survey itself was easily booked, and I received good communication from the office to confirm this. The booking was flexible around my working needs.David was on time, and took as long as had been suggested prior to the appointment and was carried out in a CV19 secure manner.The great service continued throughout with both a prompt delivery of the electronic report as well as an incredibly quick response to further queries which were weeks after the original survey.Probably not the cheapest in the market place, but I felt like I got great value for money none-the-less.Many thanks.

Every aspect of our dealings with Portland Surveys was excellent. From communications and telephone advice to the very comprehensive report, David provided a 5* service. He identified a number of issues that we wouldn't have been aware of otherwise and the survey has more than paid for itself as a result. Highly recommended.

Was shocked at the damning nature of survey on own house and also on that of house we were buying! Made too much of things and two contractors who have been since to address problem areas (chimneys and roof) have said the issues nowhere near as bad as being made out. Said our french doors didn't lock (not the case - infact he locked them!) and that we don't have a workable alarm (we do). Said our gas fires are a hazard (not so.) Said we had converted upstairs from a bedroom - this was done years before we moved in.) Gave a similarly damning report on place we were supposed to buy but fortunately we took some things with a pinch of salt. It's a lovely house but you'd never have thought so reading this totally over the top and rather unfair report.

On time, very efficient, EPC received the same day by email. Couldn't fault. Highly recommend.

What a shambles. The Surveyor got the wrong address and then took 2 weeks to write a report up having surveyed the wrong property.It cost the whole chain a month of delay, and this was very frustrating. I'd like to say you pay for what you get, but in this instance, the price wasn't the cheapest either.Never go with a surveyor that your estate agent recommends. There's often a payment involved for forwarding the client and they simply don't look after you.Portland Surveys promised a quick turn around on the survey and a professional service. We got neither. I strongly recommend you look elsewhere.

Having just gone through a nightmare process of trying to purchase a house this is 100% why you should have a survey completed. The survey absolutely exposed the amount of lying from the seller and has mitigated us the risk of an unknown sum of money to get things right. David who conducted our survey has remained professional and factual throughout to help us come to this conclusion. I can not thank David enough for completing our survey and bringing all the issues to light giving the seller no where to hide but tell the truth.I’m also aware we paid for a survey but in addition to this David was always available to take our calls help talk me through the complexities of a different kind of house to normal and demonstrate why we needed to get x y and z checked before proceeding.Fantastic service and will absolutely be using you for our next home move.

Very thorough buildings survey. Booked easily and the online portal is good. Took a while to get the completed survey back but considering the detail, it was worth the wait. It has been useful since we moved in to help prioritise work we'd like doing.

The Survey was really easy to book and we only had to wait a week from booking for this to be carried out. Portal is really easy to navigate and track. Once the survey was completed on the property the report was sent to us within 3 working days!
