While the church itself may not be exceptional in design, the windows alone make the visit worthwhile. The setting, though, is lovely.

Beautiful church, so much history to it, from tiddles the cat to daphne jones of the call the midwife to many more. Excellent tow yo explorer with little ones in this idyllic country town.

St Mary's Church in Fairford is beautiful!It is the only church with original medieval stained glass windows in the whole country. Stunning!!There was a lovely guy there when I entered who gave me a quick talk about the glass and a map which says who is on each of the stained glass windows.I recommend checking its website before you travel for opening hours.Very much worth a visit!

Glad we came across this church. The stained glass windows are well worth seeing, especially from inside. They are so detailed. There's an audio guide available as well as a volunteer on hand. The man (didn't get his name) who we spoke with was excellent as well, he gave us a friendly and knowledgeable welcome and chat.

St Mary's Church in Fairford is lovely, with the best preserved collection of medieval glass windows in the whole country.Truly beautiful!People can get a pre recorded tour to walk and learn at leisure.Check its website before you travel for opening hours.

One of the most important parish churches in Britain with the most outstanding stained glass. There was a really helpful guide and a very informative audio tour. It is well worth a visit.

Popped in for what we thought would be a quick look around but were soon immersed in the fascinating history and phenomenal stained glass windows of this important building. SO interesting - an afternoon well spent. Definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area.
