GAIL's Bakery Brentwood

When will companies learn, manners cost absolutely nothing, but the effect they have generates a happy environment, which helps soften the blow when paying way over the top! Rude, curt staff, apart from the young girl clearing tables…. Such a shame. Have never been to Gail’s in Brentwood but suggest management give staff a swift course in customer service! At the moment Gail’s is flavour of the month, where people want to go. I feel Gail’s are feeling pretty complacent, hence do not feel the need to offer a smile when they extort money from you. See where they end up when the next big eatery hits the high street.

The coffee and pastry are fairly good. But the bad review is mainly due to the environment in the cafe itself. I came to the cafe to do some reading for my work, expecting the cafe to be fairly like a normal cafe with relaxing ambience music. The staff was blasting rap music and pop music so loudly, my friend and I could hardly work or hear each other talk. Why the loud music? Do you really need to blast Lady Gaga's Just Dance on full volume? Why are you guys going for the bar/club vibe when you're a cafe? This kind of setting will only drive your customers away. Not coming back here.

Excellent variety of bakers and sandwiches. Cakes and muffins looks very tempting.Coffee is too fruit for my like.

Gail’s bakery Brentwood- Would have been a 5 star review had we had even a hint of a smile or some element of customer service from any of the 4 individuals who served us. . They couldn’t have been less helpful if they tried. Shame as the bagels were delicious though a bit pricey.

Unfortunately not the best visit. Initially spoken to by a rude lady when browsing. Then when it came to eating the sausage roll found it to be raw and undercooked elsewhere. Very disappointed as not anywhere close to the standard I would expect from a Gail's. Unable to give less than 0 unfortunately.

Bakery + Cosy Coffee Shop in one!Great Bakery, Great Coffee and lovely interior with plenty of seating (and power sockets for your laptop!). Can get noisy at times, but overall a lovely addition to the high street!

Used the store for drinks on a Saturday, it was very busy!Really nice lay out, surprisingly big inside almost divided up into three different sections!Unfortunately nothing gluten free so all I can do is look and dream and drink, but by the by its a lovely addition to what six months ago looked like a dying high street!Final thought, it’s quite pricey compared to other stores in Brentwood, which might make it shake off some of the antisocial behaviour you find in the likes of Starbucks across the street!

I'm obsessed with the sausage roll at Gail's. Yes they are expensive at £4 but everytime I want to treat myself I always find myself here. The service is always great as the staff are always pleasant and friendly. I always enjoy visiting Gail's.

We are so frustrated we would like to request a refund.As a coffee shop owner myself it is rare I leave a review as I understand the detrimental effect it can have on a business, but we feel like we were robbed. I'm not sure how this coffee shop is still in business or maintains custom.We paid twenty two pounds for two drinks and two bagels! If they were of high quality, we would have taken the hit. But the bagels which cost an extortionate £7.50 had barely any ingredients. They put the attractive ones in front then serve you the partially filled ones from the back. My boyfriend's hot chocolate that cost £3.70 was the size of my flat white which I believe was a 6oz, and it was of poor quality and luke warm! And neither drink was filled to the top!I'm not sure how this business justifies their prices!

Had an amazing cheese twist and quiche for breakfast. I’m still thinking about that cheese twist. It was the tastiest thing. Lovely coffees. It was busy but pleasant. It’s not cheap but not extortionate. Much nicer than some cheap cheerful chains. It had atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
