An excellent hardware shop with knowledgeable staff that are interested in what they do. Provides an experience and help that you will never get online. Prices are good and the stock and range of product available is incredible. We purchased enamelled mugs for camping and were offered several alternatives Shop here whenever you can so that it remains a viable business. My town has lost two hardware shops like this because people forgot to go there. A visit to Colenso will show you how poor the product range offered by the main stream DIY places is. A really brilliant local resource that should be supported. Worth a visit if you've never been to a proper hardware shop.

If you need DIY stuff go here first. I needed paint for my doors and he was cheaper than B and Q. I could not believe it. and it saved my a twelve mile journey to Camborne. Brilliant. even stocks wood. Ring here before you go any where else. Lovely Man and Staff.

Just been in for bits and pieces. Very helpful and had everything I needed to mend our caravan whilst on holiday. Much better than B&Q, and cheaper. Keep your business local and help the small stores otherwise we'll loose them! Top service.

Many a time this shop has got me out of a sticky situation. It really does have everything. If something isn't working or you inadvertently break something on your holidays, head to Colensos and they will have the solution.

A well stocked, competitively priced hardware shop run by a very friendly, helpful & knowledgeable gentleman (Colin).I have recently moved in to the town & he has helped me out on several occasions providing invaluable DIY advice that I guarantee you will not get at the big name nationwide storesThe cost of products is very reasonable indeed and the shop has an excellent range of stock for pretty much anything you would need for round the home projects.Opposite St Ives library, Colenso is definitely worth a visit & should be supported, a wonderful local resource that should be your first port of call.Remember to shop local!
