Very nice place. Good service. The menu is too normal in my opinion and not in style with the place, nothing special. Everything was good, but I was hoping for something better. It was really cold inside, I needed to keep my jacket on.

Enjoyed a catch-up and lunch on Sunday. An interesting quirky place with roast lunches and other options. Recommended.

Easy to find, plenty of parking and good views along the canal. Staff were very pleasant and service was quick. Menu choices were also good. Portion sizes were very adequate and prices reasonable. However food quality (the reason we went there!) was poor. Yorkshire puddings were rock hard, broccoli was cold and soggy. My wife had the nut roast which was cooked to a cinder. Our son had fish and chips, which he said were good.

Omg amazing place knew about it for a long time, but there never was occasion to visit. Never expect is so specious, was expecting it will be nicely decorated but my head just blowed . It was Christmas time as well, so got festive decorations. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We had burgers for the main, they weren't great , was just good, and bun was falling apart ( it was good we finished our meal). The desert was amazing, very tasty we had sticky toffee pudding. Cocktails are very good as well.

Love coming here! Staff are absolutely lovely, a taste of the beer before you buy, bread for the ducks! Lovely setting by the canal. Typical pub grub.

Exceptionally nice pub, one of the most good looking modern pubs I've ever seen. Plenty of space to sit at, well equipped pub and nice beers.Choice of food, on the other end, was far from impressive. We had the chicken burger and the steak pie. The pie was nice, but the crispy chicken burger was on the dry side. Cakes were nice. We found the coffee to be very bitter, probably the blend they use? Not strong or burnt, but bitter.

Booked in for a family breakfast. Upon arrival staff told us to find a seat and order at bar when ready. I went to the bar to ask for a breakfast menu, two members of staff argued amongst themselves about where they were. Eventually they found one and told us several things were unavailable. In general we found the staff we dealt with to be blunt and not suited for a customer facing role.We then went back up shortly after to order our food and drinks. We were then told extra things were unavailable as well. Again staff were blunt and brash when asking if they had alternatives for dietary requirements. We ordered and sat back down. The drinks came with one order being wrong. The food arrived a little after but you could tell that it had been under lamps to keep warm as the plates were much hotter than the food. We paid 11 per breakfast which only had 1 sausage, 3 streaky bacon, a small tub of beans along with toast, single mushroom and tomatoes. It seemed like a lot of money for not much food. While enjoyable it wasn't amazing quality which added to our concern over the prices. We had just finished eating when staff came over and said oh I thought you'd gone already" and walked off!Overall

The dining experience at this establishment had its ups and downs. Despite delayed order timings, I was promptly served within the minimum expected time of 10 minutes. The tea pot presentation was correct, and the staff, although friendly, seemed unaware of some issues.Notably, the tea pot had a chip in the middle, and there was dirt in the milk jug water basin, clouding the water. The tea’s strength was disappointingly weak. The staff, while nice, were unaware when I opted to use my own drink instead of the ordered water and tea.The prices were somewhat high but not unexpected for the area. The building’s atmosphere was charming with an old design that reflected its establishment during World War One. The incorporation of navy boat designs added a unique touch, creating a lovely atmosphere.Order times were as expected for a busy restaurant, and despite a 30-minute wait, the lively ambiance compensated for it. One drawback was the hidden prices, especially in the drinks menu. The restaurant’s overall presentation was good, and the quality of the food matched expectations for the price. The main course, a steak and foot pie, had mixed reviews. While the carrots were excellently cooked, the broccoli fell short. The potato mash was warm on the exterior but lacked consistency throughout. The steak and foot pie received a lukewarm review, with soggy pastry and unevenly cooked steak.Ending on a positive note, the house wine, “Garnacha, Bodegas Boraso,” was flavorful despite a slightly bitter taste. The aftertaste lingered, leaving a positive impression.Despite the drawbacks, I would recommend this place. The caring and supportive staff, as witnessed during a birthday celebration, added a positive touch. While there are areas for improvement, the overall rating is good, and I hope my feedback is reflected upon. Key issues include the condition of tea pots and attention to cleanliness in glasses and other items.

I would come for just the atmosphere and that Badger is my favourite brewery.Lovely views of the canal and a non cliché canal barge decor. It was a bit of faff to order as it wouldn't let us go through the webpage via QR code and then the card machine was playing up, but the staff was friendly.Food was great. Lots of flavour in the pork terrene and the fried chicken burger. Chips were cooked perfectly but portion size could have been a bit bigger. The ndja chicken lacked any spice and could have done with more ndja, however it was cooked perfectly being tender and juicy with a crispy skin.

It is a fascinating place in any weather in any season and at any time of the day. It is amazing to sit outside enjoying the canal or be indoors taking pleasure of marvellous interiors and a Victorian library.
