Food's usually good for fish and chips, but they have made the pots of curry sauce so small and the price is still the same. I'll be using the one in Halstead from now on

We popped in here one lunchtime when we were passing through - I am not a chip person, they are at the bottom of the list of potato dishes for me, but my husband loves them, so in we popped. These were the best chips I have ever eaten - they were mouth burningly hot, fluffy and quite frankly delicious - I did say I was not a chip fan? And the curry sauce is amazing too - You can actually taste the coriander seed in the sauce. We went in last night and ordered two large cod, a portion of chips and curry sauce which we ate in the car outside. The fish was ENORMOUS - so much so that we couldn't manage the chips. This is how it should be done -10 out of 10 - highly recommended. I am sure we will be in when we are next passing though

Excellent fish and chipsThe portions are huge. They give you far too many chips for a small portion we buy a large cod and a small chips and share. Wish they did a smaller portion of chips it is such a waste for people who cannot eat huge portions. I even tell them to stop piling on the chips. Always friendly and cheery

Great atmosphere, very clean.Full english breakfast very filling and tasty... service very good considering packed today....Prices very reasonable for the huge steak plates full of food...Worth a visit ...

Really liked this chippy I live in London and was seeing family in the area so I had to make a comparison it would have been rude not too. Firstly the staff are very friendly which always makes thing better. Then there is the quality of the batter on the fish we ordered and let me tell you all my local chippys don't even come close and it took me back to my childhood it was lovely and then there was the chips which were nice but lacked a little crispness that I love (I've got to be fair) but you do get a large portion for your money. And to top it off phone your order through to save time perfect.

Great fish n chips every time!Be hungry if ordering large fish and chips, these guys don't skimp on portions. I usually have to cut cod in half to fit on plate! 5 star!!
