Always a confusing place if you're looking for magazines... I know folks might prefer to read online but Smiths seem to want to encourage that by hiding most mags by moving them randomly round the store. Also promoting for so many things at checkout is annoying...

we are students that went into WHsmith to post a parcel and we qued in the que and politely asked a lady called sara if i can put my rubbish in the bin, and she said no thankyou and started shouting at us telling us there are bins all around aylesbury and she would appreciate us if we didn’t ask again. we then said it’s fine in the same manner we spoke to her before and she said from the till “there’s a bin in mcdonald’s, waste your time there”. we then left the situation and went to the post office where we had found a bin in the waiting queue. we had left the rubbish there and as we were walking out she said thanks for leaving it behind. we told her we binned it and she carried on making snarky comments. we got her name and she responded with why do u need my name is it because i’m rude. we don’t appreciate this type of customer service, especially as we all work in retail ourselves. we’re upset with the manners she spoke in and we suggest you do something about it before she scares more customers away.

A large store compared to some with many hidden corners of things you might not realise are there. Contains a post office with self serve and lots of stationery and cards. Can get busy and does feel a little cluttered. Overall a useful shop.

Helpful staff, huge range of products available, but the wait-times for the post office services can get quite excessive - Would be useful if the self-serve machines were opened more often

Great store. Forgot to pick up my item from self service when I was in a rush, went back the next day and they had put the item aside for me. Great products at reasonable prices.

Some areas are a bit pricey but always have some good offers on their books. Huge stationery range, everything you could want. Tidy and well laid out, helpful staff

I will say that the store would benefit from a face-lift to help brighten it up with new fixtures, a lick of paint & maybe some new lighting as some areas of the store seem very dark compared to others.I see people complaining about 'queues' at the post office but everytime I go the queue is practically non-existent and only busy on pension days.I agree that price labels rarely match the product on the rack, however, the staff in store are always very polite and helpful, with some actually going that extra mile to help, I had one really helpful staff member run off from the till only to return moments later with a free gift that I failed to see when buying a half price book, great service imo.I do think WHSmiths lost a lot of customers when they removed things years ago like dvd's, cd's, video games and toys etc as there are really no other stores in the town to compete with except the many second hand stores and with the likes of HMV leaving Aylesbury completely.I also see people complaining about pricing, yet the store also has tons of items that are lower priced compared to other big stores, like books and stationary and numerous offers at the front of the store.Yes, they could benefit from more staff, but if they don't have 'buying-customers' , then how can they afford more staff. As a former retail manager, I would suggest the company takes a look at rebranding, refitting, rebooting to attract a large customer base before the company goes the way of all the other big stores that have left the town centres.

Nice store with a wide range of books to pick from.A real shame that WHSmith's prices are often much higher than the competition. Does question the longevity of the store, however for a holiday read or usual magazine, it's a good store to visit if time is tight.

One of few places left that sell hobby specific magazines like Practical Wireless. However pricing is a bit steep. Store is clean and well maintained

Product I wanted, not even priced. No carrier bags at the checkouts. Terrible service, last time I went in wanted to buy a special card it was £10.00 but no envelope. Books more expensive then Tesco and morrisons. Not really sure what the incentive to go there.
