Chapel Street Windows

I used Chapel Street Windows as I had been recommended them by a carpenter I have used for years. It turned out that the person I had round to renovate my window was Guthrie whom I knew from musical circles. Guthrie is an excellent professional. He knows the business well, can advise the best way forward, and give an honest appraisal of how much work is required and how much it would cost. In my case I was going to do some of the restoration work myself and he was flexible to allow this. Had I unlimited funds I would without hesitation have sent my Windows down to the workshop and let him do the whole thing. You gain economies of speed ( they have all the correct tools and products there), and the craftsmanship in puttying was vastly superior to my amateur efforts. He replaced a pane of glass with an authentic aged equivalent pane.The result is a perfectly free and balanced sliding sash window.Excellent service all round.

Guthrie did a fantastic job restoring some rather tricky windows in our Grade II property in Penzance.The standard of the work was exceptional and Guthrie himself was a pleasure to have in the building during the work.I would not hesitate to recommend his services to anyone looking for sympathetic repairs and restoration on historic and period windows.

Very happy with our eight sash windows which have been repaired, Guthrie took great care to preserve the old frames and glass which have been brilliantly restored. The rotten window sills were replaced and the fittings insulated to stop them rattling in the wind and stop any leaks. An excellent job. To manage the budget we agreed I would paint the interior frames after repair, that flexibility worked well for us.
