Tapri Punjabi Bar and Grill
First time trying Tapri, went with a takeaway in the first instance.Positives; Incredible depth of flavour in the Balti, the egg fried rice was beautiful, naan delicious, and the real shock treat… chilli chips! Absolutely amazing. Had to call the restaurant to tell them how happy we were with our meal. The packaging, and presentation were also top notch, eat with your eyes first.Negatives; My other half doesn’t like spicy food so I was ‘forced’ to eat all of the chilli chips myself… tragic

If you want somewhere to share great food with friends then this place is perfect...The food was full of flavour it was absolutely delicious, the place was very warm on what was a very cold day, the service was very good, friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was great and the interior decoration was modern, clean and spacious.. altogether definitely well worth a night out...I will return soon..

Nice looking bar that was very busy, we went on a Saturday evening. All the tables were reserved and we waited around 30 minutes to get a table. Which for us was ok as we had drinks whilst we waited. Was disappointed that they don't serve Beaverton Neck Oil anymore. No Camden Pale Ale, Peroni or Corona on draught as their website suggests. Their other branch in Sutton Coldfield sell the above beers. We ordered a large mixed grill, desi lamb curry, chicken lollipops, chilli chips and garlic and corriander naan.Mixed grill was ok. The fish, chicken and lamb chops were nice. The wings were very small, like the ones you get in supermarkets and the kebabs were overcooked. The desi lamb curry wasn't very desi at all. Looked like they used tinned tomatoes rather than fresh and it was quite bland. The chicken lollipops had a nice sauce on them. You only get 4 niblets though and for £6.95, I would expected more.Overall the place is clean. The car park can be a little tight when full but was not an issue for us. I would definitely recommend booking a table beforehand if going at peak times. The service was good.

Lovely food and great choice! Would recommend to everyone. The staff are amazing and really accommodating. Best of all is the prices are very reasonable…. In fact, when I think about it probably one of the best places in the West Midlands when it comes to a desi bar and grill.

Tapri is a brilliant place, and exactly what a bar and grill should be. The staff are amazing and friendly, service is great, the music is brilliant, and by having lots of screens, there is endless sport which you will not miss out on. And then there is the food which is delicious, whichever dish you have. Tapri is a great place to experience what a real bar and grill should be like.

One of the best desi pubs I’ve been to. We particularly enjoyed the large mix grill, karahi, chilli chips, peshwsri naan, and chicken lollipop. Will be visiting again soon!

In response to the owner it took 1 hour 15 minutes for a lamb curry, chili chips and naan and the place wasn't busy, just say that you were seriously understaffed. The lamb was horrible. Who said the food was good? Nobody asked us if the food was good so don't tell lies. learn to take the critiscm it may improve your service and food quality. The best thing about this place was the decor and that's about it. The service was painfully slow and the food took forever to come out and it wasn't even that busy. They are unable to pour a pint of Guinness that's for certain. Once the food did come out it wasn't good. The desi lamb curry was terrible with a lack of flavour and the lamb was very tough and rubbery. The chili chips weren't great either. I wont be returning here as there are so many great desi pubs in Birmingham and Wolverhampton.

Really enjoyed eating here. Had a variety of dishes to try and see what flavours they had to offer. Loved the chicken lollipops coated in their red sauce and the cheesy chilli chips (although I feel they could have been cooked just abit longer). I'd recommend the local Tapri beer as it tastes great and is only £2.95 a pint! This place also does reasonable food prices too and you don't feel like your being ripped off. The guy behind the bar greeted us as we walked in and we felt welcome straight away. My wife asked if she could have some yoghurt to help cool her curry down as it was a little too hot than we thought, and instead they completely did us a new one less spicier which was very nice. Hats off to you all as you were all very nice. Would deffo come again !

Obviously Indian Grill Pubs are a different experience to a restaurant.Although I like both I do prefer the quieter 'atmosphere' in a restaurant. I guess it's due to my age. That said I really enjoyed the Tapri. It was very busy considering how warm it has been, quite a few were happy to sit outside with a beer, a much cooler option.I thought the food was very good, fractionally salty, but very flavoursome and as hot you want. Unfortunately the wife found her balti to hot, however the extremely affable and accommodating manager was determined to please and insisted on replacing it. The rest of the staff were also exceptionally friendly and helpful. Regarding value for money, the sheekh kebab was a bit pricey but all else seemed good reasonable. Very good selection of drinks including the wife's favourite pinot grigio blush.
