I highly recommend visiting. Staff gave a very interesting talk and tour of this amazing company, which has been producing incredible embroidery since 1767. They were heavily involved in work for the recent coronation.

I just completed the Digital Embroidery Masterclass with Tom and had a great time! I had never done any form of embroidery before, but this 1-1 coaching session really took me from a complete novice, to someone who could genuinely digitise a design in a day. Would recommend to anyone looking to get into the world of digital embroidery. Thanks!

My experience with Hand & Lock was exceptional from start to finish. I got in touch in regards to embossing a cardholder and was in contact with them through email over several days, with speedy and helpful replies. The entire process was super easy and the communication was second to none, with pictures and advice from Jasmine who was amazing! The product arrived quickly the next day and I was given the option of including a handwritten message as I was gifting it. Overall the service and quality was outstanding. Would definitely recommend!

This was a beautiful exhibition. I really enjoyed seeing all the different pieces of art. So much creativity and amazing craftsmanship.

Ordering and receiving this beautiful embroidery case was a snap! To be honest I had never heard of Hand and Lock until I read a post from another stitcher. She had posted a photo of her work and it included a shot of all her tools. She was requested by many friends to describe her tools. So, when she pointed out her case and said it was from Hand and Lock, it took about 30 minutes for me to find the website and complete the transaction. I believe I received it in three, maybe four, days. The case is exactly as it looks on their website. I’ve been using every day since I received it. I’m so happy to have so many of my tools so handy and in one place. BTW, I also ordered a pair of tweezers. They are very helpful.

AVOID - We gave them my partners jacket for embroidery on the cuffs in September, this was for our wedding in December. After approving the first design, which took weeks due to their slow communication, they then inform us after looking at the jacket they can’t do it. So, they come up with another design, which we approve, now a week before the wedding they have decided they cannot do it at all. Completely unprofessional and let us down for our wedding.

Had a lovely day out at Hand and Lock. Interesting and knowledgeable tour by Esme. Allowed to take as many photos as I liked.Embroidery taster was well taught. I produced something that was half decent.I would advise anyone to take their own lunch as the break was very short and little time to find a sandwich. Otherwise excellent.
