Drove like an hour for the Christmas dinner and ended up not having it due to the poor communication this pub had. Deposits were taken for the group yet when we arrived, we were not booked it apparently. Not good at all.

Accommodated over 30 of us at the last minute after our Christmas party venue suffered a power cut.Great evening - great staff.Very reasonably priced drinks and a friendly manager.We’ll be back!!

Popped in for a post work pint with a mate. Finally a pub that still has a pool table! Proper friendly staff, good mix of clientele. Only stayed for a short while but could well make it my new local from now on.

Decided to try out the new place in town as heard they have a pool table. What an absolute hidden gem. Ladies toilets were spotless as was the rest of the pub. Good atmosphere and friendly and efficient staff.

Great Atmosphere..Bar Staff Were Great..But I Booked A Table For A Birthday..Nobody Told Me There Would Be No Food Firstly..And Then The Manager I Spoke To Told Me There Would Be A DJ Summer Vibes..Well That Didn't Happen We Had No DJ...We Had To Get Food Delivered From Uber Eats..So I Won't Be Booking A Table There Again..It's Ashame Coz The Pub & Staff Were Ok.

I drove from Devon (a 400 mile round trip) to attend a Christmas dinner here only for our entire party of over 20 people to be turned away, seemingly due to poor communication within the management of The Loft. They offered a meal the following day to the date we confirmed, however I didn’t want to drive the equivalent distance of Land’s End to John o’ Groats in 48 hours so after a stressful time for many of our party they returned the deposit we had paid in full. Organising a Christmas dinner at The Malt Shovel last year was wonderful experience.

Lovely staff and best student discounts!Really recommend going on a night out. Alone or with a group of friends, you would still have fun! Karaoke and Comedy night are the best!
