Great climbing facilities, need to have your own kit or it gets pricy quickly. Cafe nice, plenty of free parking.

We have an Edinburgh Leisure Soft Play membership and as much as we like this venue, it baffles me that they have disabled parking but no parent parking?!?!

This is one of the best serious gyms in Scotland. Good machines for sure, but a whole wall of power boxes with Olympic bars and a lot of free weights. Not often very busy, loads of car parking. If you want a big gym without idiots texting in the squat boxes, this is for you.

I am rating 4/5 based on my experience spending about 90 minutes bouldering only (no rope climbing at all). Some of the big walls looked like excellent climbing but I didn't get a chance to try them out.I am a relative novice (around V2-3 typically) and I was a little disappointed at the selection for bouldering around my level. There are two main places for bouldering: on the simulated rocks out in the middle of the climbing space and inside in a small gym. The indoor spot was more like what I was used to, but unfortunately focused primarily on overhangs instead of slabs, which I prefer. There was one wall that looked like it was vertical or maybe a little less but unfortunately they were setting it during the time I visited so I didn't get to try it. The route labeling was generally very good although some routes (especially those on the synthetic boulders) seemed to have lost their starter markings (which also described the grade) so some guesswork was necessary. It didn't bother me too much but I noticed it.The synthetic boulders were really cool to me, since I had only ever climbed in a gym with flat-ish walls before. The new features for footholds made for a really cool open-feeling type of climbing I enjoyed. Of the 12+ faces of these boulders to climb, I would say that three were more slab faces, a couple more were pretty vertical, and the rest were overhangs of differing degrees. I would say a pretty good mix, though I quickly ran through the problems I could solve at my level and was left looking for more routes. One nice thing is there are extra bonus" routes set using just the features of the rock face. Ask someone about how it works because I wasn't doing things right at first
