Been meaning to try this place for a while and wish I hadn't waited so long. The food is absolutely divine. I had the curried goat (the meat was cooked on the bone just how I like it so you get the rich flavour from the bone marrow), stuffed peppers with sweet potato curry and the salt fish fritters. The curry that filled the peppers was superb, really savoury flavour, I could happily eat a bowl of that on its own. The salt fish fritters were a nice delicate balance to all the rich flavours from the curries and very filling. The array of cocktails on offer looked very tempting, next time I visit I'll remember not to drive.

Nice little find. Good vibes, good music, friendly service. Only let-down was that some of the dishes were far too oily to enjoy and ended up being wasted as we didn't want to take it away either. Veggie tacos, stuffed peppers and plantain was good.

Went out for a lunch for two at the newest Caribbean joint in town. This one is actually a restaurant located in the heart of the city and at last it seems that we have a potentially superb black-owned eatery in Nottingham! It seems that the progressive way forward with eating out Caribbean is tapas style. Having recently dined at Wood & Water in Brixton, I'm warming to what seems to be the in ting" format for presenting our food. And I have to say Spice Cay is doing it very

Lovely restaurant with colourful interior and Caribbean music (perfectly appropriate noise level that does not interrupt conversation!). The combination of flavours was exquisite and unlike anything one would be able to whip up quickly at home. Food took a while to arrive, so make sure to go with company you like talking to! Other than that, service was brilliant. Dishes I would especially recommend: plantains, double tacos and fish bites!

Aw man, disappointed. I'll maybe go back for a lunch deal one day, but nearly £8 for some vegetables in a little wrap was bleak, honestly gone in a few bites. No sauce, couldn't taste seasoning. Staff were lovely, good range of vegan options. Then the tip went on automatically bringing it to nearly £9. I had to ask for it back, to which they apologised. Just sucked cause I always tip, I just couldn't bring myself to pay that much for that.If the burrito was bigger would have all been forgivable. Ended up going Greggs round the corner to fill up.

First visit here on very hot saturday evening. The place inside is more like cafe than restaurant. We chose to sit upstairs thinking it would be nice and breezy and it was a big mistake as it was absolutely boiling hot up there with no access to open the windows and no fans. The toilet is also located at the top floor so its not good for someone with wheelchairs. The food was lovely but the atmosphere and the ambience were nothing special and was not cozy at all

We got 1 main dish each and then a few sides to share between 3 and that was more than enough! Would definitely recommend the taco doubles they were huge and really tasty. Plantain was cooked perfectly and would also recommend the chickpea curry. Great veggie options!

Was really excited about the Jamaican tapas venture but unfortunately didn't quite live up to expectations. Service was slacking slightly, we asked the waitress for recommendations and transpired that they hadn't tasted the dishes. Food took 40 mins to come out despite being told 15-20 mins (note there was no one else in the restaurant when we arrived). The food was tasty but didn't go above standard this time.
