1800 metres of gently undulating concrete. Half way down the runway was expecting to see a sign saying Hidden dips"

Fascinating facility and the Mitchell Hall is a good place to relax and get some much needed refreshments.

Aerodrome next to the village of Cranfield, in Bedfordshire, England. It was used during the World War II, known as RAF Cranfield. Nowadays, it is now used for private flights, business aviation and research and development activities of Cranfield University.

Landed here New Year’s Eve to collect a friend. Everyone could not have been more helpful. Air traffic were excellent and really on it with 300 ft overcast. My friend went to the wrong place and a super fireman drove over to collect him. So helpful, and pleased to be helpful. Best service I’ve ever had at an airfield, and been to a few.... thanks so much and Happy New Year to you all. J

Cranfield Aerodrome, one of the very few in the UK that still retains all of its original airstrips and layout from WWII. This aerodrome was made famous by the Frank Spencer flying lesson in the popular tv series 'Some Mothers Do Av'Em' filmed at Cranfield. There is a very nice and relaxing airfield cafe here and is very much worth a visit. I have been to Cranfield twice and you get a sense of the extreme size of how it was in WWII. The modern day aerodrome is vast and varied including a University on one side. My personal score is 10/10.
