Landed at boxing hare a bit earlier than our reservation.Wasn’t a problem and was given a table immediately. We orders the mussels to start and shared. The bavette steak felt like it was missing some flavourThe lamb rump with a crispy outside was excellent.Overall good food and picturesque and interesting interior.Recommended

A beautiful culinary gem in cotswold! Perfect restaurant for dinner with the family, dinner after a long day out or dinner date. It's just lovely! All the food we ordered were superb. The ladies serving were nice and courteous too. We really enjoyed ourselves. The sunset view from the car park is beautiful!

Arrived on time for our booking to find Closed sign on the door, customers milling around in the garden. On entering the establishment, instead of offering an apology the the owner (Harris) complained about his lack of staff and accused us of not informing them we were bringing a dog, despite me explaining twice that the dog belonged to another party!Menus were cast on the table (the opposite side to where we were sitting) and the server dashed off. It took about 20mins for someone to come and offer some bread & butter before drinks order was taken and about the same for a jug of water to appear.Main courses were brought out quickly so no waiting around for those. The meat eaters in our party with happy with quality of both beef and lamb. The accompanying vegetables were brought in a single large dish to go between 5 people with only a small dessert spoon and fork to serve ourselves but these were tasty and plentiful. The vegetarian risotto was quite small and lacking in the flavour described in the menu.I appreciate that being short staffed on the day of our visit probably led to the disorganised start so I would hope this was one off. Things eventually settled down into a more relaxed pace. Our party enjoyed the meal and the food.

We had a wonderful meal, cooked to a high standard. The service from Fin was incredible, we felt so welcomed and he was very attentive. A lovely place and well worth a visit, we will definitely return.

Excellent lunch. Had the bavette steak fries, was excellent -- great cook on the steak, and very good fries. The red wine jus was great on the side. Chocolate fondant dessert was good also. Good service too

We stopped here for a quick drink on a Sunday walk and were quickly given the cold shoulder upon entering by who we later found out was the owner. After asking if we could order a round we were told they weren't really set up to serve drinks" ...in a pub..?Eventually a younger member of staff stopped by and helped us order and he could not have been more helpful and friendly. We found all the staff we dealt with to be pleasant and eager to help

We visited The Boxing Hare recently for my husband's birthday. A relatively large party of nine on a Saturday night. It was a great experience from start to finish.Antony was very accommodating in arranging the booking for me and put our table into a dog-friendly area of the pub so we could bring our greyhound. On the night the food, atmosphere, and service were all fantastic. Everyone had a lovely time and I'm very grateful to all at The Boxing Hare who made the evening so enjoyable! Thank you.

A venue is of course brick and mortar … but what Stacey and Anthony bring to the experience really makes it something special.Lovely manicured gardens, well thought out decor and food that will have you wishing you were blessed with more stomachs.Highly recommend, special occasions, thank yous, or just some quality time with someone - it’s worth the visit.

Friendly and helpful staff and good service. The menu has a good selection of different dishes, couple of pub favourites in there. Food was very nice, the cheese soufflé was superb, and I had a very well cooked duck leg etc after.I wasn't drinking alcohol so 2 courses and a soft drink was about £40 for me.I would say it's worth treating yourself here at least once.PS the pub dog is friendly and appears to need stroking a lot.
