Was really shocked with our food tonight, ordered duck and pancakes, the duck was so dry it was hard to swallow, pork balls was the same, yet we ordered chicken balls, apparatently they only do veg chow mein instead of special chow mein, tasteless, and not enjoyable , will not be attending again

First time ordering a take away from here. Very happy. Food was tasty. I'm pleased to have a selection of vegetarian dishes. Lots of tofu in a thick satay sauce, makes a change to yucky mushy veg in watery sauces which is the norm from a couple of other Chinese takeaways in the area. Will order from here again.

One stars is too much for this place now. We have eaten here too many times as a local with limited opportunities for other food types within the village. However the last two occasions the food has been terrible. Some dishes - Kung Po is “ok”, Crispy Beef again fine if you like batter and chilli however they have serious issues with their chicken supplier, please don’t go for any chicken not in a batter. Chicken balls, chicken satay and chicken in pineapple - they use process meat with a very low meat content. The texture is like raw chicken however having complained and got a new batch it was the same when we got it home - slimy jelly like substance. To test this we even cooked it at home in a frying pan and after 5 mins the texture had not changed! I am gutted to say this but this place needs to be shut down for public safety. I will be contacted trading standards after our NYE 2020 meal - probably sums up 2020 - sh@t meal to end a sh@t year!

Nothing special.The food was ok, but nothing special at all. The spring rolls were a bit burned. The chicken was cooked well but the dish I had was average. My husband enjoyed his beef dish.I asked for English tea, I got Jasmine tea. That was very nice, but that is not what I have asked for.Deco inside is not nice and music is boring.Service is average.

Brilliant crispy duck and spring rolls. Toooo much excellent value. 5 * staying at the Chester hotel next door. Massive difference in cost for food, although have to compromise on eating in your room.

Maybe I’m just used to a higher quality of Chinese takeout back in Australia, but I thought this wasn’t good at all. Spring rolls and the Cantonese beef were okay, but whatever you do DO NOT order the lemon chicken. The issue isn’t even the chicken as some others have described (although it certainly wasn’t anything spectacular). No, the issue is the lemon sauce! Tasted like soap. Stay far away from it.Won’t be coming back.

Already reviewed this Chinese takeaway under its other name China Town. We had an awful meal for 6 of us. All the food was preheated and not nice at all. The meats we had were like wobbly jelly and we all felt cheated after the meal cost £81.10!! Would definitely not recommend. Awful food!

Bamboo Village - Chowmein was ok but could of done with more seasoning, Rice also a bit low on seasoning.Chips, Satay sauce, Salt and chilli Prawns and prawn toast were great.But the Chicken balls? They were gloopy, gelatinous, translucent meat and did not feel or taste like any chicken ball I have ever had.More Dough / Batter than meat and tasted more like a donut.The Jury is out on whether I will be back , but if i am it wont be for the Chicken" balls14/12/20"

We recently ordered a pick-up meal quite late in the evening at Bamboo Villa. We were the last customers and the woman on the counter was about to close the place for the night. She was really friendly and patient. The food we got was freshly-made and the Singapore noodles tasted amazing! Since not many places deliver to remote corners of Cotswolds, Bamboo Villa offers yummy and pocket-friendly options.
