Wok and Out

Food wasn’t hot, barely warm. Also the portion size is too small for a 8.50 box.

My friends and I decided to try Wok and Out after work. We were very excited to try this establishment out for the first time.We ordered 2 different boxes with two toppings each (noodles as the base) One with black bean - beef and sweet and sour chicken. The second with prawn Suichan and salt and pepper chicken.Within minutes of receiving and tasting our food we had realised the food had a stench to it. The smell was so utterly foul, we had to go back to complain. We respectfully explained our experience to the lady who had just served us.Initially she heard us out, however, at no point did she offer us any compensation whether it was through another item or a refund. Instead, she had offered to notify the chef and and said that she could do nothing further. She then proceeded to explain to us that they have been serving customers since “12 noon” and no one has yet complained to further justify her reasons for no compensation. After talking back and forth for a few minutes, she decided to talk to another member of staff over the phone via text (not sure if this was the owner).We were made to stand outside in the cold for nearly 15 minutes whilst she had been liaising with this other member of staff.We were eventually given our refund however, what had led me to write this review was her unprofessional behaviour towards us in the end. This was uncalled for seeing as we had patiently waited outside in the cold for many minutes after receiving smelly food. She became very passive aggressive towards us during the refund process. Not only is this disappointing in terms of food but also in terms of customer service.This was a horrible experience for us and we hope that this can be dealt with so that other customers do not have to go through this.**UPDATE TO MANAGEMENT TEAMS RESPONSE**Thank you for your response.We hope to clear up any misunderstandings from the order of events.Actually we had barely eaten 1/3 of the 2 boxes ordered. Infact we made our complaint within the first 5 minutes of ordering - not possible to finish the food within such a short period of time.We have not discouraged ANY customers to avoid making other orders whilst waiting for your colleague to finish liaising with management team.What has actually happened was (and you colleague was UNAWARE of this as she had been busy liaising with management team over our refund) One other customer was concerned over the oil smell as she had ordered chips. She was being served by a member from CHAATSTREET who had popped into help. Not an item we had ordered.Customer herself was confused to see us standing outside in the cold for a long period of time and then asked us why we were standing there. She smelt our box out her own will and made HER OWN decision. She then proceeded to ask the CHAATSTREET member I want a full refund before taking her completed order (which was still in process). The CHAATSTREET member understood and swiftly gave her money back (she paid in cash).Your colleague did not offer us “various” alternatives. We did make it clear that to order other items from your small menu would be futile as we had ordered 4 different toppings already.I will reinstate that this wasn't even offered to us from your colleague in the first place.The only option as stated before was that she would inform the chef. And that not much else could be done.The only reason this review was made in the first place was out of disappointment because your colleague failed to give us a good service at the very as she was processing our refund.Even after being kind and respectful to your colleague she was not apologetic in the end. She seemed almost frustrated out of defeat that we as paying customers got a refund?The fully boxed food we had to chuck ourselves at the very end not even a gesture of apology to say no worries we will dispose of the food.I hope this clears any misunderstandings. We wish you the very best and hope you can make improvements as needed.

When I go shopping in Beckton this is the first place I go to get something to eat. Each time I’ve been the food has been excellent, piping hot with a great customer service. Love the dishes I order, different ones each time and all been yummy

Very good tastes! I stayed in UEL for 2 weeks and finally found this take away CHN food. the tastes amazed me!

It’s shafee and I was served by a lady at 7:30 she was funny and very nice and generous with amounts and the food she made was 10/10 Defo my new regular spot to eat ✅

I said I'd give an honest review...Tried them today. Was welcomed in, service with a smile. They do have lots of options but sadly no Thai green today. Opted for rice, which lacked flavour but was okay. The curries were hot and flavoursome, good enough for a takeaway. Black bean was a little mild though. The problem I had was that the large was on the small side and I was even told I was given extra, which was disappointing really. An actual large portion costing £7.50 would have led to a 4* review. I do like supporting smaller businesses so thought I'd have a look on the way to GDK.

Service was fine but that's itI paid for the Chicken Katsu curry and Rice. £8 50 for a box of Tilda rice a drop of curry sauce a few bits of vegetable and a thin and small sheet of breadcrumb chicken. Not worth the money at all. Bad stomach ache shortly after and multiple toilet trips... Still ongoing -_-

My god, I literally puked after having this! I got the salt and pepper chicken and Thai green curry and no word of a doubt it tasted like I put a fart in my mouth! Bluerrghh! Everything else I asked for on the menu “Sorry we don’t have this” like cmon you limited me to two toppings you have and they were horrendous! Should’ve just gone to Nando’s or McDonald’s down the road!

First time eating from this place and was amazed by the amazing customer service and delivery of their food. I would definitely come here again for their food and would recommend you to do the same!! Great stuff guys!

Best chinese food i ever had and i ordered a sweet n sour and black pepper and salt chicken with noodles and it was amazing
