Visited here for the first time this week. Lovely environment with charity shops and tea rooms serving home made, very tasty food. Absolutely lovely staff. There is also a garden centre, miniature railway and sensory garden. Well worth a visit. It will be stunning in Spring/SummerA second visit in the Spring revealed a much reduced menu with very little choice - mostly panninis, toasted sandwiches etc. Really disappointing. Service was reasonable but as in many places returning to business after lockdowns etc, perhaps staffing was an issue

Lovely views! Good prices and food was nice. Can't wait to come back on a less windy day and enjoy a coffee outside.

Shane this place could be really good. It used to be. Take my hat off to the volunteers but sadly the rest is badly ran. Could be so much of a special place if ran properly. Well done volunteers but the rest nil point

A wonderful few hours looking at wonderful scenery. The model railway with it’s complex signalling systems is amazing. Four of us decided to have a coffees BUT the cafe has a strange booking system which is not clear to the the visitor. We went staight into the cafe and were redirected to reception which is not sign posted. The wait was 30 mins.even though there were only six people in the cafe! We left.

Gorgeous views, the little cafe offer a litte menu but cater for vegetarians and vegans! The afternoon tea was beautiful, very peaceful! Little charity shop to have a wander around after too :) we've visited numerous times in the past and will continue to in the future!

Just such a lovely spot for lunch or a cup of tea. The views from the cafe are gorgeous. There are lovely walks and a golf cart for the less active. Has the added bonus of charity shops to help support the fabulous activities that go on there

Really enjoyed our stop. Lovely cream tea. Stunning model railway. Nice charity shops. And we got a fantastic golf cart drive through the estate with Mick. Everybody was so friendly. Highly recommend you stop here and support this little gem.

Absolute must see. Delicious yet simple food, a charity shop, another shop selling more antique like items and an unbelievably detailed miniature railway. The railway operators and volunteers are enthusiastic to share their passion with you. We stopped here briefly for a short lunch and came away feeling happy we didn’t just opt for the Starbucks. Highly recommend.

Lovely peaceful location with views over Charnwood and walks through grounds. Well ran charity shops and fascinating model railway. However very disappointing cafe. Tried twice recently to be served, the first time we arrived at 1.45 and were told food finished at 2pm so we were clearly too late - abrupt and unhelpful staff member. Visited again last week when there was a board outside stating only people with bookings need knock the door but as there were only a handful of folks in we thought we would try and get a cup of tea. We felt we had inconvenienced the member of staff who told us that we could sit down but it may be some time before the order was taken. Waited for over 10 mins and could hear staff talking amongst themselves in the kitchen but no- one came so we left. Another table who had arrived before us had not had their order taken either. Badly managed and staff clearly can’t be bothered. Such a shame as it could and should be a thriving local cafe - big missed opportunity.
