Wow! Didn't expect this! Very close to the airfield. What a beautiful beach, seeing is believing! Complete with shipwreck ❤ Limited parking

It's a car park..... It's not paved but it's reasonably well constructed. The beach beside it is great though!

Another lovely little beach in Orkney

Excellent place for a swim, not usually any worrying currents. I swim here most days all year. Occasionally one or two seals, though they are often scared off by dogs. Good for snorkelling too, especially around the rocky edges or the wreck.Please do not climb on the wreck, it is fragile, and at certain times there are rare Arctic Terns nesting, they will dive-bomb you if you get too close. I also enjoy watching the heron who lives on the wreck.The beach is frequently overflown by propeller aeroplanes from the nearby airport.On a clear night, this is a good spot near Kirkwall to watch the stars and Northern Lights.Small car park and single track road, so please drive considerately, especially at busy times.

Great car park (a little full at busy times but extra slightly less perfect parking available) next to beautiful sandy beach with great view of cliffs, old wrecked ship, and occasional airplane from the nearby airport.

An amazing clean Sandy beach just a short drive from Kirkwall . Has a WW1 ship just offshore. Plenty of small planes coming in to land overhead at the nearby Kirkwall airport

Would be handy if there were more refuse bins as there is just the one in the carpark
