About the Business

St Cuthbert’s Island (Hobthrush) – Visit Lindisfarne | St Cuthbert Island (also known as Hobthrush island) is located just off Holy Island. As the tide rises, it becomes completely separated from Holy Island (a tidal island off a tidal island, if you like). The legend is that St Cuthbert used to escape here when he wanted to retreat away from the monks

St Cuthbert's Island
Fabulous peaceful island. Sit at the top and watch the seals swim and listen to their noise. But watch the tide or you will be wading through to the mainland.

Nice walk over when tide is out and saw seals! Make sure you have sensible footwear as can be rocky.

St Cuthbert's Island
Luckily visited on a day where the tide was low enough to walk across to this island, gives a slightly different view and has some nice secluded spots to explore and see the seals up close.

St Cuthbert's Island
Accessible at low tide - you would have to swim there at high tide - beautiful spot

St Cuthbert's Island
Lovely relaxing place to visit. At low tide you can walk onto the island from the larger island of lindisfarne. I sat for ages watching the seals playing in the water. So peaceful.
