Mountain Memories

We done the Sunset Canoe experience as a family. So incredibly magical. I cannot rate this trip highly enough. Derwentwater was so still and peaceful. We could hear all the birds. After hot drinks and toasted marshmallows, we then rowed back by moonlight. Justin was the perfect host. If we ever return to the Lakes we would only ever use Justin and Mountain Memories. Perfect family memories. Thank you Justin for making our holiday.

Justin took my husband, myself, and our 3-year-old son on a sunset canoe to St. Herbert's Island. Justin built the canoes himself and they were stunning. He ran us through all the safety information and was an excellent communicator throughout. He had a small oar for our son to use, which he loved :) Once we landed on the island, Justin set up chairs, built a campfire, made some hot chocolate, and then left us to roast marshmallows and enjoy some time as a family. Justin was full of wonderful stories about his personal travels and facts about the surrounding area. We absolutely loved this experience and would highly recommend it to others! Thanks for facilitating a memory we will treasure for years to come, Justin.

Justin was absolutely fantastic and the experience really made our holiday. We rock climbed and abseiled, and Justin knew exactly where to take us for beautiful views. We felt safe and comfortable the whole time and his knowledge and experience really showed. He helped us increase our confidence and we would love to do this again in future. Thoroughly recommend and the price was very reasonable!

We had a great time with Justin on the canoe and bushcraft experience. He tailored the trip perfectly to entertain our children aged 4 nd 7, whilst also keeping my wife and me engaged. He was relaxed, friendly and professional and knows how to savour the moment in outdoors. We didn't feel rushed and the experience expanded our appreciation of the outdoors. 10/10. Highly recommended.

Our experience was fantastic! We went paddle boarding, both of us were first timers, and I was a bit nervous but Justin was an excellent coach, taught us what we needed to know and got my confidence up enough to help me stand up too! We went so much further into the lake than I had ever thought possible before starting the session. My partner was more confident than me and Justin taught him some extra skills and set him some fun challenges to do too. We were blessed with fantastic weather, and the views were gorgeous, what a wonderful way to see Derwent Water. We would 100% recommend booking with Mountain Memories, it was easy to coordinate the day and time that suited our timetable via email and we now know that there a lot of other activities available that we would definitely book with Mountain Memories for the next time we’re in the area!

Justin took the 5 of us on a sunset canoe and it was absolutely brilliant. He was really knowledgeable and friendly, and we all had a really great time canoeing, and then enjoying the marshmallows and hot chocolate on the island. Would highly recommend doing it!

Justin took us climbing and canyoning. A family of four with two teenage boys, we were a small group and benefitted from this. He tailored the activities to our abilities and kept it fun. We all really enjoyed both activities due to his engaging personality. Highly and unreservedly recommended.

What a morning learning to Paddleboard with Justin! The moody wet weather didn't put us off and rewarded us with a magnificent rainbow.Justin's approach of calmly taking us through the 4 basic skills and encouraging us to have a go meant that we were up and on our way in not time.We explored around the lake and up the river, even coping with a few waves from the steamer.The kit he provided kept us warm and safe and his teaching style proves you can teach old dogs new tricks.Thank you so much Justin, we'll be back!
