Rachel's Walnut Cottage Tea Room
I visited Rachel's Walnut Cottage Tea Rooms for the first time today while out cycling around the Yorkshire Wolds. On entering the Tea Rooms I was met with a friendly hello" from a lady with a lovely warm smile. If I met someone who had never been to an English Tea Rooms before and I had to describe one to them I would use Rachel's place as a mental draft! It is the quintessential example of how a Tea Rooms should be (IMHO). Quaint but not quirky

Rachel's Walnut Cottage Tea Room
What a total delight. Parking is very limited, but there is ample free parking in the village. Rachel gave me a warm welcome with her husband, Ken, on washing up duty. A huge wood burner makes this welcoming too. A nice young girl waiting on who was willing to learn and asked the right questions.I had a delicious jacket potato with cheese and beans followed by some perfect coffee and walnut cake. All dishes are made fresh on the day by Rachel. Reasonably priced. Clean disabled toilet. This property is disabled friendly. I will be back.

Lovely, light cheese scone served with coffee by the friendly owner. Main focus is the delightful array of homemade cakes, but a few savoury options available. Well worth a visit in splendid Wolds area. Indoor and outdoor seating. Parking for cars and pushbikes.

What a hidden gem in Huggate. Managed to have the last piece of coffee and walnut cake which was so moist. Ginger cake and scones were the best. Artisan coffees were delicious- even accommodated my skinny decaf gingerbread latte. Little treasure trove with jewellery and gifts. We’ll be back. Thank you for your attention to detail & sharing your beautiful place.

Lovely little spot serving mainly cakes. The staff were lovely. It's dog friendly outside too and a gorgeous place to sit out if the weather is nice. They gave seating inside. It was all served in lovely china plates and cups of all different patterns. Nice selection of cakes.

Stopped at this very pretty tearoom for coffee and cake this afternoon whist out and about. Beautifully presented China crockery with my tea and a tall glass with the latte.We chose a piece of coffee and walnut cake and a piece of fruit cake, served with a slab of Wensleydale! Both cakes were homemade and delicious!Excellent value too! Thank you :)Oh and it’s worth saying there is parking for a small number of cars at the top of the driveway but plenty of tables, so walkers and cyclists would do well here too :)

Rachel’s tea room is an absolute delight , it’s warm and cosy, thanks to the log burner.Rachel is a wonderful host and nothing is too much trouble. The delicious home made food is served on bone China which adds to the ambiance.Nothing is too much trouble and we were able to stay as long as we wished.The toilet facilitates are immaculately clean and also have added touches of special soap and hand cream.Definitely worth a visit, an absolute charming delight with the perfect host.

A delightful tearoom in Huggate, perfect stop for a tea/coffee and cake after a walk in the Wolds. All the cakes, scones etc are homemade and delicious. Plenty of space to sit outside in fine weather. Excellent service and would definitely recommend a visit.

Rachel's Walnut Cottage Tea Room
A lovely rural tearoom, which did an excellent fruitcake and cup of tea at the end of an 8 mile walk. We stumbled across it, and was a perfect close to our time in the Yorkshire Wolds. For anyone who listens to The Archers, this is very much how I imagine Fallon's tea room to be.
