Europcar Glasgow Airport

I had to take photos of all the scratches and dents not on the policy, then I had to find a Europcar representative to show them to, then I had to wait for him to add them to the document. Pretty poor really. I only do this now as I have been massively overcharged at Belfast international Europcar twice now for things I didn't agree with on the policy. Be very careful with Europcar. I only use them because they are the cheapest, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone

Every good up to the point of trying to get the deposit back car took back in perfect condition ask staff to check the car before I handed the keys back they said it was perfect. no deposit returned after numerous emails no reply to one of them so be very wary before you leave you get your deposit back straight away over 2 months and I’m still waiting

The staff member at Glasgow airport service desk (Jeremiah?) was very helpful and polite, ensuring I had all the information I needed. Though I had to be 'bumped up' to the larger and more expensive model of vehicle, as the one I had ordered was not available, the overall experience from pick-up to early morning return, was more than satisfactory - I would use Europcar again.

Alert- Europcar offers a Roadside Assistance Express coverage program which promises to bring you a replacement rental car to the site of a breakdown saving you time, especially important in a remote area. Europcar outsources all of their emergency services to a third party company. My almost new Skodia (4000 miles) had an oil pressure sensor failure causing the car to stop running at 15:00 in a remote location of Scotland. Instead of delivering a replacement car to us (4 retirees), they insisted on sending a tow truck to see if the car could be repaired on location. It took 2.5 hours for the tow truck to arrive because of the remote location. Obviously this type of breakdown was not going to be repairable by a tow truck driver. The tow truck driver took one look at it and confirmed it wasn't repairable. We learned it was not possible to send us a replacement car at this location. We then waited 2.5 hours for a taxi to show up to bring us to our hotel arriving after midnight. Did Europcar deliver a car the next day? NO! It took 2 days for the replacement car to show-up at our hotel. I made at least 15 calls duing this emergency and they refused to provide proper emergency help. We lost 3 days of our vacation. After a lengthy dispute Europcar credited me only for 2 days of rental cost. This is a very poorly run company. If you breakdown and have roadside coverage THEY WON'T DELIVER proper emergency services that you've paid for. This is not a one-off experience. It is their standard process. JUST AWFUL.

A great experience. Pick up was very helpful. Complex insurance details were well explained saving me some money. I did have to use the roadside assistance as I didn't close the trunk properly and drained the battery. The assistance was easy to request, arrived earlier than predicted and resolved the issue.

Dreadful company.We hired a car for our trip to Scotland on our honeymoon.The car we were given needed to be recovered back to Glasgow airport (over an hours drive away) on the third day as there were no brake pads on the front offside and hardly anything left on the near side.I had to go back with the AA to get the replacement car because they refused to deliver a new car to me because according to them I hadn’t taken out the right insurance with them ??????The said they world refund a days hire cost as we lost an entire day. Two months down the line I still haven’t received it. The apology for the entire issue was too disingenuous.A card in the car said they had carried out 32 checks on the car “ for our safety” butIf we had been in an emergency stop situation it could have been fatal.All we get is endless emails saying they have thoroughly investigative the matter and it is now closed.Appalling customer service and negligent in their duty of care.Don’t go anywhere near Europcar. Disgraceful.

The website lacked vital information about the insurance required, and the employee I picked-up the car from wouldn't give me the car I reserved and pressured me into upgrading to a larger car - which I later found out was entirely unnecessary. He dismissed me when I assured him I was fully capable of driving a manual transmission.The car I did end up getting was very nice. It was clean and well maintained. I didn't have any trouble with the car and turning the car in at the end of my trip was very easy.

Fast and friendly service. No hard sell on upgrades or insurance. Deposit was returned in full, just a few hours after returning the vehicle. Happy customer. Would definitely use again.

Super easy pick up and drop off at Glasgow Airport. Very quick! Under 5 minutes in total. Staff were courteous and polite. Vehicle was clean and fun to drive. Will definitely use Europcar again! Thanks!!
