Donald Butchers

Love this butcher. I haven't been there a huge amount but it will be my go to butcher now as the meat is always top class. Love the fact they sell other bits like amazing bread and home cooked lasagne. And best of all, they are a wonderful team. Always really friendly, willing to get you whatever you want if they don't have it in stock, and just all round great customer service. It's a real pleasure shopping here. Love the banter too!

They do chicken legs! And if they don’t have them in they can order it in for you if you let them know in advance. The lorne is top quality and doesn’t leak lots of fat when frying.

Honestly the nicest butchers. Just bought a steak, sausages and a steak pie can’t wait to try it!

This place is fantastic. Absolutely none of the grumpiness prevalent with many Glasgow butchers when you pop into the shop and ask them for a lesser/now-hipster cut that isn’t on the counter but almost invariably is in their cold store. By the looks of what I’ve spotted them preparing they’ll happily order in all sorts of unusual stuff too. The butchery staff are friendly and love to share their obvious love of food and vast wealth of knowledge. Don’t see myself going anywhere else in the West End unless the other meat purveyors up their customer service game to this top notch level.

Been going since it opened and they are definitely a quality butcher. Whole chickens that actually taste of chicken. Chicken breasts great foe chicken Milanese. Tender and tasty lamb from Stirlingshire. Steak pie top quality. Still to sample rolled pork shoulder. Maybe this weekend. Will report back.A great addition to the area...Rolled pork shoulder was slow roasted for four hours. Delicious and tender. Great day one and several meals later. Visited to buy sliced haggis, lorne sausage and and the sausage shaped burgers with pepper sauce inside! Excellent friendly service and quality meats. Highly recommended .

Really friendly butchers. Happy to answer any questions and definitely goes the extra mile. 1st time visiting and was gifted with a few extra fancy sausages. Highly recommended

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Professional, kind, excellent customer service... We don't eat a huge amount of meat and even so, everytime I have been in there, every one of the staff have served me and treated me as though I am a high value customer. The meat has also been super fresh and good quality. I have recently been to a different butcher down on byers road and the freshness of the chicken sold to me there vs the freshness of the meat and poultry I buy from Donald butchers is so different! The customer service as well has been like chalk and cheese to compare them. Furthermore, if Donald butchers don't have something, they have taken my phone number and said if they can get it in they will let me know. They have also offered to make us some gluten free sausages if I give them some notice. Please support small businesses like these so they can stay around for years to come and continue serving everyone well.

Individual steak pies are great. Quality lean steak.
