King's Ely
An amazing school that really pushes its pupils to the best of their abilities. It offers wonderful opportunities across all departments within the school, allowing its pupils to find their own strengths. Very close boarding community with a family environment in the boarding houses, allowing all the boarders to feel comfortable and really feel at home. A perfect school with everything you could want!

Kings has created a caring and inclusive environment for all it's pupils. They provide an all-round educational experience which focusses on developing individuals and supporting them to achieve their best All pupils have a plethora of extra-curricular opportunities open to them from sports to Drama and the Arts to Debating - and everything you can think of in between. I could not have chosen a better school for my son who has just finished his 12th year there.

I enjoyed my time attending Kings. I loved the traditional aspect such as the Cathedral services and the understanding of the history of the school and The City of Ely. They make you strive to your best. The teachers work hard to ensure you understand topics and also ensure you enjoy every day there. Plus, there were endless sporting opportunities, playing Golf and Clay Shooting were top parts of my week at the Senior School; those were both 2 of many sports available. Not only that but many trips to remember such as going to Italy and the USA. I would highly recommend sending your children there. I thoroughly enjoyed my journey through school, from a 2yr old at Nursery all the way up to when I left at 16 after my GCSEs. Most who attend will go far in life, as they are given the confidence to achieve their best and aspire to success.

This is a fantastic school to be a part of! As a teacher here I am proud to be part of a dedicated, supportive and professional team who pay attention to and cater to the individual needs of every student, both academically and pastorally. It is a happy and beautiful place to be.

King’s Ely is an amazing school for any child willing to discover themselves. Art, music, academic perspective – they are all fully explored at the King’s, in order to help students find their path in life. Pastoral care is a very important aspect of the school philosophy. It offers a real comfort to any parents, especially to those whose children are full boarders. Excellent meals, field trips, extracurricular activities – they all contribute to an unforgettable experience that any student could wish for.

A great school in a beautiful historic setting. The educational journey starts in the Georgian style Acremont House for the pre-prep children and ends in the splendid Old Palace, home to the sixth form pupils. With a mixture of day pupils and boarders there is a real sense of community. The school has plenty to offer outside the academic timetable. Music and drama are strong at all levels and plenty of sport is offered, with the Great River Ouse on the doorstep providing fantastic rowing opportunities.

Both of our children attend Kings Ely. We have one child in the senior school and the other still in Junior. Across the board, the teachers are simply amazing. The focus of the school is really about the all round character, as well as the academic, and there is a strong emphasis on pastoral care as well. The opportunities are endless. Whether your child is creative, academic or sporty, there is something for everyone. We especially love the discussion element in lessons, which allows the children to really develop their understanding of the wider world and explore the topic to its full. An incredible school with supportive and hugely enthusiastic staff. The historical setting is an added bonus!

King's Ely inspires each child to be the best version of themselves. Pupils are polite, confident, good company and most importantly, happy! My children love going to school and their achievements since being at King's reflect this. The staff (from leadership team through to catering) are caring, kind, inspiring and nuturing. Who wouldn't want to be a part of this school?!?

Not an exam factory and neither a cosy little country school. King's Ely has developed over the last 15 years into a dynamic and lively centre for learning with an emphasis on students realising their individual potential. We'll worth a visit on Open Days and with the added bonus of being located in a beautiful small city.

I spent 7 fantastic years at King's Ely, which enabled me to pursue my love for sport amongst other things. Not only did I gain an education in stunning settings consisting of facilities like the Old Palace and Ely Cathedral, but I also formed relationships with staff and fellow pupils which have been invaluable. The opportunities were endless with extracurricular activities (including Ely Scheme) and I still receive support and guidance from the school since leaving in 2017.
