We had a very enjoyable meal here at the Mussel Box, I've never received SO many mussels, and with Zero bad ones! The triple cooked chips are delicious and wished it came with a few more, but I did leave feeling extremely satisfied.A perfect send off for our last day,And Dog friendly too!

Excellent local mussels and local wine. Relaxed atmosphere. Staff were very pleasant and efficient. Was pretty full when we arrived and easy to see why.

We returned to the Musselbox this week full of excitement after a fantastic roast last October. We we sadly disappointed with mussels that promised so much (juicy and succulent) but which delivered little flavour from the marinere sauce. The food looked great but was lacking in the flavour sensation we experienced previously. The speed of service was fast but this in self meant out main courses arrived when we’d just finished our starters, plates hadn’t been cleared and we were in for less than 52 minutes before we’d had 2 courses and decided to go elsewhere for dessert

I have been here many times over the years but since it has been the “mussel box” I fear it’s a bit hit and miss. The food is “good” and service “good” but it’s not much more than that.I’ve experienced that if you come at off peak times, as we have in October this time, the menu options are a bit lacklustre and the outside glass dining space was freezing. My partner had a whole hake which was very skinny, and hard to find much to actually eat on the plate. The starters however were gorgeous!I don’t doubt this place has good food and service, i just don’t think it’s one I will return to as there are definitely better option in Padstow .

Lovely location, nice staff, and quick service. Food was excellent. We had mussels in South Indian sauce and crab tacos. Mussels were quite exceptional and great value.

Sadly a very average experience.Largely overseasoned & overcooked sauces, muddled flavours & sloppy execution. The wine list is plain & unadventurous - easily found in your local Majestic (+£20 per bottle of course). The speakers didn’t really work properly & quite a few of the cheap rattan chairs were broken. On the plus side the service was attentive but tellingly not at all inquisitive as to how our meal fared.Sadly we won’t return but wish them well.

This is a firm favourite for breakfast everytime we are in padstow. The food is delicious and the staff are super friendly and helpful. What makes it for us is the view you get of the harbour. We've always gone early and out of prime holiday season, bit we've found it a very relaxing spot.Only had breakfast but the evening menu looks good. We've got a food allergy in our group and they have always been very accommodating. Really knowledgeable about their menu and don't mind all the questions!

Crab bisque was not hot and had to resend it ba ck to kitchen. Could not finish it as it did not taste of crab. I am not a fussy eater but this did not taste good. Cheese croquettes where also warm not hot. Mains where better. No desserts at lunch time which is a bit disappointing.
