Collegiate Bagot Street - Student Accommodation
The bathroom that was supposedly deeply cleaned before my arrival smelled like a urine just like a public bathroom, the drain filled with dirty water and hair like a gutter, elevators don't work properly. They also don't allow you to make payment plans suitable for students as they demand rent before student finance even drops. 1 star if I'm being generous.

This is the worst accomodation ever. the place is filthy full of rats and silverfish. The rooms smell like sewers, the manager does not even care about you at all and always tells you to “wait” he doesn’t know what he’s doing and doesn’t listen to what you have to say.The asian man with the 3 strands of hair in reception his name is Roger, he is by far the worst one. he walks into your room without knocking and starts shouting in your face. He verbally abuses students, making them cry. He made my stay here the worst, as a first year student it is a whole new experience to move out to uni and to be around such horrible people, this includes the manager and roger. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK HERE. THE WORST PLACE IN BIRMS.

Worst student accommodation I have stayed in (couldn't last long and had to leave after 2 months). Please stay away!!!Firstly, the room I got was very messy and dirty, the walls and bed and toilet were nasty. It doesn't feel safe and secure at all and the walls are paper thin, can hear everything especially if you have noisy flatmates also if you are an early sleeper goodluck because in this dorm you won't be able to sleep a single night. The heater smells horrendous and doesn't work properly. There is no cleaning staff for kitchen unlike other dormitories. There are bugs and mess in kitchen where you eat. There is no maintenance.Elevator is always broken and smell awful in halls. The staff is very unprofessional, unhelpful, and doesn't respond to requests and emails. They just want to take money from students and the price of the room is not worth it. You can get way better dorm at this price range. The room during the summers is very hot and ugly. There is no sunlight in rooms. People living here are also crazy, fights break out every other day and police is always coming through the accommodation. People living here are always smoking pot and smells really bad.It feels like a prison living in Bagot Street Accommodation.Wouldn't recommend to anyone!!!

Spent a few weeks staying over here, while in Birmingham for work during the Commonwealth Games. Very basic accomodation and shared communal facilities, like kitchen and laundry. Ok for purpose, if not planning on spending all your time there.Rooms are really poorly ventilated and can get badly hot, so having a fan is a must, if staying there.Lower floors can be really noisy, with passing traffic and antisocial elements up to all sorts in the surrounding area.Plus points are being within easy walking distance of city centre and well served by public transport routes nearby.

Awful place. crawling with rats. I woke up once with a rat next to my head. I went to reception and told them about it and the man and woman in reception told me that my room is probably dirty but I have OCD. my room is spotless always and when i tried to explain that to them they told me to walk away and clean my room. They ignored what I said and put their computer music louder to ignoreme.I couldn’t stop crying about a rat being next to my head whilst i’m asleep. I am honestly traumatised by Bagot Street, I paid off my rent and decided to commute everyday for university. This place is awful and nothing ever gets sorted out. I have not even received my deposit back. This company is trash and Money hungry just employing a bunch of trash people.

This is truly the worst accommodation in Birmingham and whoever is reading this review - RUN AWAY!1. When I moved in there was a hole in the wall that was left from the last tenant and also there is fresh paint that you can see around the edges of the whole room.2. If your flatmates are noisy or if there is a party on the lower floors - good luck with trying to sleep with those paper-thin walls.3. There's a silverfish infestation and not to mention that rats can be found anywhere at any given time.4. At night-time there's always some GTA action going on outside the area and it's definitely not safe.5. The furniture hasn't been renovated from a long time and living in here will make you feel like it's 2006-2007.6. Even with the given circumstances of inflation and post-brexit, this place is too overpriced for the living conditions that are provided by the landlord.7. Sometimes the garbage room is overflowing and nobody takes action.8. Some of the laundromats and dryers are broken in the washing room and still nobody does anything.9. In the bathroom the glass cover is halfway through the shower cabin which means whenever you take a shower the water is splashing on the ground and since there is no drain, you have to mop the floor every time.10. There's always an awful odour in the corridors and not to mention the smell of weed coming out of nowhere.11. Sometimes the internet services are really bad and if you have some urgent work to do, good luck getting it done.12. Some furniture is left broken and cheaply fixed in your room just so they can take your deposit while putting the blame on you.13. In some rooms the valves that are used for adjusting the water temperatures in the shower are broken.14. Getting your room warm in wintetime is challenging but having your room cold in summertime is impossible, basically you are at the mercy of the weather.Overall if you wish to have the worst and most depressing university experience, then Bagot Street is the place for you. I had the worst experience living in this place, on the first day I moved in my room had this terrible stench and it had clearly not been cleaned, there was food wrappers in my bed and half an eaten Kit Kat, my bathroom had mould on the shower head and on the side of the shower and I was told that someone would come and clean it and nobody even came, had to end up cleaning it up myself. They have a serious silverfish infestation and the best that they can do is hoover it up. Sometimes I would come out of A block and the rubbish would be flowing out of the room and won’t be cleaned for days, which also attracts rats. The lifts barely work and some of the buttons have not been fixed since the beginning. I don’t understand how this place is allowed to continue business we live in terrible conditions. The only good thing that I can say is that the staff really try to help as much as they can. Do not consider this place if you want to keep your sanity. Bagot street should be shut down because whoever owns this place is clearly money hungry and they don’t care about the well-being of their residents.

My friend has had a whole RAT in her kitchen for more than 2 weeks & nothings been sorted, regardless of the fact she has complained many times. I don’t understand how this accomodation can be so ignorant about a clear health and safety issue? We actually pay way too much money to even be having these issues

Nice student accommodation for both Aston and BCU. Great common areas with loads to do. Centrally located to town and train stations.
