Can't fault my doctor(Dr Green) when I can actually get an appointment, I find the receptionists to be rude and sound like they don't want to actually be there. Ring for an appointment to be told there are none and to ring the following day to be to same, ring tomorrow. Finally get an appointment for 5 days time, book the day off work due to where I work only to receive a call the day before that it's been cancelled.

Early afternoon on the 18/01/23 I telephoned Whalley Surgery to make an appointment to see a Doctor as soon as possible.I explained my symptoms to Donna Thompson on the phone; 7-day history of abdominal pain and bowels not opened for 5 days. She immediately made me an emergency appointment with Doctor Chamberlain.Doctor Chamberlain carried out an examination and referred me immediately to Blackburn Royal Hospital.Within a few hours I had an emergency laparotomy for perforated appendix with multiple pelvic abscesses. This followed 6 days in ITU.Whilst waiting to go into theatre the consultant told me that without the emergency laparotomy, I literally only had a few hours to live.Without the professionalism, quick thinking, and calmness that Donna Thompson displayed I would not be alive today.

Ring 3 days in a row, wait on the phone for up to an hour only to be told when you get through, no appointments ring back tomorrow, how about you just book me in for tomorrow, probably just so they can say on some league table our patients get an appointment within 24hs of calling". The ill person shouldn't go through the additional stress of having to deal with this archaic booking system

I’ve used Whalley Surgery now for many years and cannot praise them enough. Despite the amount of pressure they are under on a daily basis they try and do their utmost to care for the residents and people living in the surrounding area. Thank you to each and everyone of the team for all you do as I think you’re all amazing; I feel incredibly lucky to have such an excellent practice where I live.

I rang for an appointment and was given one on the day at Sabden. Having been seen by Dr Mo I was given treatment which has improved my symptoms.I was dealt professionally by the receptionist who did ask about my symptoms to triage me.

A lot of the Drs here are really good but as per comment before one of the receptionist are really rude and a couple of the GPS are terrible worse thing is trying to get an appointment asked for call back or appointments nothing till late June it’s now may 23rd !! It’s ridiculous!! And getting worse !! Thinking about changing practice !! Whalley you need to buck your ideas up you have a lot of bad reviews on here !!

Polite, friendly and efficient. I was seen by the Doctor on time today. I have never had any issues with this practice and have always found the people there to be caring. They do the best possible job in the most difficult circumstances....sometimes you need to wait but that is not their fault.

Being a patient of the surgery for the past 47 years I couldn't fault it, until now. After taking a sample in on drs request, I was told I would be contacted, which didn't happen, I rang the surgery and was told same again, no call, it is Friday, I have an infection and must now wait until Monday, or whatever day I can get a phone appointment! I don't feel well, I also feel discriminated against because of my age.

This is not a reflection of the doctors. I honestly cannot fault any of them. They’re all fantastic in my opinion. Particularly Dr Green & Dr Golding. However, with the exception of Peter, the support team (admin, reception, dispensary etc) massively let a good practice down. The phones ring for hours, they refuse to send emails for you, they speak to you rudely and like you ‘should know’ everything about how they do things instinctively. They treat you like you’re a massive inconvenience and not the very reason they are in employment. I know this is a common theme in the reviews on here, which is a shame,
