The River Shop

I made a day of it by attending both the seascapes and beginners epoxy resin workshops. Richard was warm and inviting and very knowledgeable about the subject. I came away from the classes feeling confident that I could apply the techniques we learned to my own projects. I’d recommend either class to other and I will be returning for additional classes in the future

I came over last Sunday to make a bread board for part of a portfolio, and I have to say I enjoyed it, the instructors did a good job at helping me with my work and i'm happy how it turned out.I highly recommend The River Shop to anyone who had an interest with working with wood!

Richard gave us a warm welcome. There are lots of courses available, but we were on the beginners course. Richard taught us how to create a mould, calculate and mix the resin, and gave lots of tips for taking this hobby further. He was a great teacher, asking, encouraging and answering questions throughout the session. Richard is an expert in resin and we would recommend this course to anyone. All materials and equipment were provided and we had lots of fun being creative and getting messy.Dan took us through the process of finishing our resin coasters. He was great at explaining how and why we did each step, how to use the specialist equipment and how to achieve similar results at home. We were surprised how much work goes into the finishing, and as complete beginners we found Dan to be very patient and encouraging.

Have done my first workshop here over the weekend. A great class. Informative, fun, and low-pressure but with chances to grow and follow up in future courses. Looking forward to being back soon!

I recently did the intro to resin workshop. This was a great course and Richard is a very patient and informative instructor, clearly passionate about wood craft. Learned a lot which will help immensely to avoid trial and error and costly mistakes. Highly recommend and I've already booked onto the table making course with The River Shop and Richard.

Great fun course making a bread board. Good to get to grips with various tools and make something solid at the end. I enjoyed being let loose on the machines without much hovering, to make the piece our own.

Had a wonderful Saturday morning spent learning all about epoxy resin.Richard was patient, informative and easy going. A brilliant combination.I would certainly recommend it.It's straightforward to get there with new Elizabeth line serving Woolwich. The workshop itself is based within a vibrant crafting community.Bonus, you get to keep your work too! (Posted a week later)I can see the River Shop being a fun day out to try and learn something new, an unusual date option or even a teambuilding corporate event! It feels very versatile and I know I just scratched the surface in my session, there is plenty more to learn.Thanks Richard for a great morning
