George and Dragon MountnessingWe enjoyed lovely afternoon at the George and Dragon. The roasts were very good as were the starters and desserts. The food was matched by friendly service from our waitress Keira who it was a pleasure to meet. I would definitely recommend a visit and will definitely back ourselves soon.Pic.1 - Chipotle ChickenPic.2 - Roast Pork BellyPic.3 - Cauliflower CheesePic.4 - Trio of RoastsPic.5 - Apple and Damson CrumblePic.6 - Sticky Toffee Pudding with honeycomb ice cream

We came for my mother in laws birthday, and we all agreed the food was absolutely delicious and was a lovely calm atmosphere. I had the lamb rump and was perfectly cooked. The pies went down a treat too. Our server told us that it has been recently taken over, so I'm not sure what it was like before but I would definitely recommend coming now.

Went here for lunch today - food was nice but service was a little slow and quite hit and miss. We ordered two pots of tea but after a long wait the pots had no lids so the tea got cold quickly, I ordered the pork belly and scallops - they forgot the scallops and they came out later on a separate plate, took a very long time for tables to be cleared. Nothing awful, but these guys are positioning themselves as a gastropub not your cheap and cheerful local - and it just wasn’t great.Decor is now looking very tired from outside and in, the whole place is in need of a lick of paint. Really spoils the atmosphere, this is somewhere I’ve often gone for birthdays, Mother’s Day etc in the past - but the scuffed and dirty paintwork means it doesn’t really feel that smart any more for a celebration.

No tables in the restaurant were available on a Monday night and I didn't notice that the place was heaving on a Monday night. But in the end we got some bar tables in a comfortable little nook and that was actually much better set up for our little group! Really loved the look of the place, nice atmosphere, no blaring music so can have a convo easily, good food and lovely cocktails! Perfect for a night catching up with good friends.

The pleasant service was the highlight, sadly a few things fell short, such as no coffee machine working, small food portions, burnt gammon and chips, and told at the outset that there was no fish & chips, a pub classic, is never a good start. Disappointing visit, the worst of the 4 I have been at the pub and standards are definitely falling rapidly here, nowhere near where it used to be. What a shame.

Service was incredibly slow, we waited an hour for our main meals and after we ordered our first drink we were never asked again if we wanted another, nobody wrote our dessert order down and despite coming back to check, they still forgot 2 of the kids desserts. My son asked for the cookies and ice cream (one of the forgotten desserts) and instead of coming back to tell us they’d run out of cookies, they just stuck an uncooked brownie in the bowl and said we’ve run out of cookies so you’ve got a brownie instead, this was then added to our bill as an additional dessert on top of the one we originally ordered so we had to correct this before we paid. There was also an extra side of fries charged that we hadn’t ordered which we had to ask to be removed from the bill. The kids’ burgers were extremely disappointing, a burger cut in half for £7.95 feels like a complete rip off, and when we complained we were told that usually the kids get 2 mini sliders so they actually got more than they usually would - disgusting. Finally, despite such poor service a £15 service charge being automatically added to the bill felt like a bit of a kick in the teeth. All in all a very disappointing visit and we won’t be returning any time soon

We used to enjoy eating here, but the last few experiences have been far from great.Menu choices are often not available, and we are only informed after choosing our meal.On our last visit, all of our dishes were lukewarm. A sidedish was returned to the kitchen as it was cold, but we never saw it again. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and we always enjoy a drink here but we will not be eating here again.

We’re frequent patrons at this pub. We were there today and the food was really disappointing. The bread accompanying the mushroom starter was stale. My burger was cold. There was no care taken with it. Everyone in our party of 4 was disappointed. Service was slow. We finished our meals before the second round of drinks came. For the price of the meal it was not worth it. Won’t be returning, a shame as it’s on our doorstep.

There was a big group of us but it was a disappointing meal. Our server was lovely but unfortunately didn’t make up for the awful service and mediocre food we got served. Roast was below average, aunt Bessie roasties & supermarket yorkshires (come on- they are not hard to make). Definitely not worth the £21 I paid.My partners steak was good but for over £30 that’s what you would expect.Shame as we were looking forward to the meal as the menu sounded amazing. We won’t be returning.
