Sarah Jane's Haberdashery

This pretty shop is a wonderful little gem. Sarah has been helping me learn to sew for almost a year now and I have progressed from being a shaking slapdash wreck of a seamstress ( thank you teacher at school) into someone who loves every minute of my classes . Sarah is a patient teacher and such a positive presence. The shop has everything that you need for sewing and a constant supply of such pretty fabrics.

Sarah Jane’s Haberdashery is a fabulous little shop with everything you need for sewing projects and beautiful fabrics. I highly recommend the sewing lessons - Sarah is lovely and classes are small so you get plenty of help and advice.

Sarah Jane’s is a beautiful little shop! They have absolutely made the most of the space available considering the age and size of the building. Sarah is always cheerful and helpful to everyone that comes in and she deserves every success with such hard work and dedication. It’s a happy, colourful little place, you’ll love it!

I love this little treasure of a shop. I attend the sewing classes on a Tuesday evening and as they are small you get the expertise and help that you need. Nothing is ever too much trouble and if Sarah doesn't have something she will do her upmost to get it in for you. There is continually new fabrics in and always a good choice of haberdashery items and fabrics. I think Sarah is doing an excellent job with what she has available to her and is constantly striving to improve and get more stock in.

Shop very hard to find. Eventually found it down a little ally. Went in we were expecting to see lots of fabric, but sadly there was not much to choose from. There are several rooms as you go in. Filled with clutter and rubbish. It looks like it was once a second hand shop and that the previous owner just left stuff behind. It’s clear that this is Sarah’s first project and that she is “ learning on the job”. She has a sign up offering sewing lessons, which is a great idea or would be if she was more established. How on earth she hopes to do that in the space she is using as her shop area is beyond me.If she was to de clutter everywhere and give the place a once over with paint. Sort out the rooms. There are four in total, make each room an eye catching place to look at and choose fabric and one definitely a work room away from the shop area. Then I’m sure her dream would happen. Sarah is a lovely lady, would I visit again. No, not unless lots of improvements are made.
