Flames Fireplaces

Had my gas fire serviced by Flames. This cost £75 for about 20 minutes' work but I suppose it's normal for tradesmen to charge an hour's work for any part of an hour, so that was fair enough.I was told by the engineer that parts of the pilot assembly needed replacing. The engineer said this was a cheap part that was fairly quick to replace, but when the quote from the service manager Paul Hughes came through it was very high.I called to ask for a breakdown of the cost but Paul refused to do this and refused to tell me which parts he'd be ordering - we were basically told to just accept the price he'd quoted blindly or go elsewhere. I would have thought if I pay for a service of my fire it at least entitles me to know which parts are faulty, if any.If you want to be overcharged, kept in the dark and spoken to rudely, then by all means use Flames for your gas fire servicing needs. Otherwise I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

From start to finish Paul and the team have been superb, great advice and guidance, as promised the finish is amazing, i am so pleased with my new log burner and fire surround it has transformed my lounge. The team who installed it have been professional, quick and very tidy, a true pleasure to do business with would totally recommend

This is a well located shop, Ideal for public transport as bus stops right outside for all locations plus plenty local car parking. Plenty of fires /fireplaces on display. The thing here is,you get good service and attention. Nice people who attend to you.

Fabulous fireplace, expert levels of technical assistance /help from Andrew, and the install from Nigel and Andrew was first class. They both went out of their way to make it stress free and Nigel was very funny! The whole process was easy and straight forward. Would definitely recommend!Well done to the whole team..

My 85 year old mum was struggling to light her existing gas fire. The service we received was both extremely professional and friendly - from the advice on the most suitable fireplace model through to installation. Would not hesitate to recommend and mum is now looking forward to winter!

I've just had a fire fitted by this Flames and can only say it was a pleasure doing business with this company. I was kept in touch right from the initial visit to the showroom until completion.The installation team were friendly, efficient and worked cleanly and methodically.I would recommend them to anyone.

Flames fitted a new gas central heating boiler and new radiators to my apartment. I can not speak highly enough of the work they carried out and expertise and professionalism of everyone I dealt with at the showroom and with the engineers who carried out the work. I have the added complication of needing to deal with the management company for my property. Paul dealt directly with them, giving them photographs and diagrams in relation to the proposed work. This meant that all the worry was taken away from me and the work went ahead with no glitches. I am thoroughly pleased with the work that has been done and am very glad I chose to go ahead with this family business.
