Avril's Travels

I can't say enough about how awesome Avril was on our trip to the Highlands of Scotland this past week. She drove us from Inverness to Evanton to the Fairy Pools on the Isle ofSkye and back, and to Fort William where we climbed Ben Nevis and saw the via duct in Gen Finnian and back and basically anywhere else we asked her to take us.We felt so welcome and at ease with her driving and in her company. She has an awesome sense of humour and told us lots of interesting stories, history and facts during our travels. We were a group of 10-12 from Canada, and I would highly recommend Avrils Travels.

I needed to transfer 5 blokes and 5 gravel bikes plus gear from Inverness to Newtonmore. Avril was the best priced option, with a box trailer (room for a couple more gravel bikes I reckon) and comfortable (and brightly coloured!) 7 seater minibus. Nothing was too much bother, arriving for the pick up 50 minutes early and stopping off for a food shop along the way. Avril is full of life, clearly enjoys a good chat and has a killer kilt!I can't recommend any more highly.

I can’t praise Avril’s Travels highly enough. 6 of us ladies of a certain age had a fun, informative, day out at locations around Inverness. We had a lovely stop for lunch at The Culloden Moor Inn, where the waitress informed me that Avril was treating us to a bottle of wine as we were celebrating a milestone birthday. Thank you also to Avril for the Outlander references and places of interest at Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns and Culloden House. But what was way above and beyond, was when I rang her the following afternoon to ask (impromptu) if she could take us to Loch Ness in the hope of doing a boat cruise, after our plans went awry. Avril didn’t hesitate to help us out and rang the cruise company to check all ok and half an hour later we’re all back on the bus en-route to Loch Ness. Avril followed this up by getting us an hilarious, impromptu gin tasting before dropping us all back to the hotel. What a star! Don’t go anywhere else if you’re looking for a great guide who’s prompt, accommodating and very friendly and funny.

Amazing tour with tour guide Amy. She was very knowledgeable and fun. She was very funny too. They were on time to pick us up and drop us back off. She added some little stops (in a small local town, and a farm with alpaca's and Highland cows) because we had time to spare. Would definitely recommend!

Our private tour with both Avril and Amy was truly amazing. The care and attention both women gave our family was something I’ve never experienced before. Avril’s knowledge of Culloden and the Cairns got us off to an amazing start to our tour of the Highlands. Then we had Amy for 3 days and she was truly incredible. Her depth of knowledge on the history of Scotland that she shared, the ease she drove the minibus through Skye and all of the Highlands, her use of music to enhance our travels, I could go on and on for days on all that she did to enhance our experience. I would recommend both women to anyone and everyone!! Thanks so much for making our family vacation to Scotland one for the ages!

Absolutely fantastic service from Avril's Travels. Punctual, accommodating and very patient with our party/ rabble of men. Avril took us from Inverness to Skye and back again over the course of a weekend. Great craic and perfectly reliable. Thoroughly recommend. Thank you Avril.
