Someone recommended this place as my hair can cost a fortune, but after giving it a go I can honestly say you get what you pay for.I emailed in advance to check the booking availability and was told they couldn’t book without having the skin test first.A bit strange, as usually the date is secured first and then you get the skin test in the days before an appointment - but fair enough, happy to work with their policy.I popped in for the skin test and was asked if I’d like to book on the spot as I was already there. I said yes and was offered the following Thursday. Great! Didn’t receive a confirmation etc. but was told it was in the book.Turned up on the Thursday at the advised time and was told I didn’t have a booking.I explained that I’d been in the previous week and booked in person. The staff were super condescending and just said ‘well do you have a card? There’s no booking’ - basically calling me a liar.I was asked to wait in the reception while they could see what I could do.They found a stylist to do my hair, who then kept making digs at me, saying ‘I wasn’t expecting to be doing anyone’s hair today…’I paid for the services I’d chosen (you have to pay upfront here, not at the end) and from then on things went from bad to worse.My highlights were done by two different students (one on each side) as one kept saying she was too hot and leaving the salon.The other one therefore offered to step in and help, while the first one eventually disappeared and didn’t come back. The supervisors had no idea she’d gone.As a result, you could tell there were differences on each side in terms of thickness, spacing and even lift - as the ones the first student had started were left to develop a lot longer.Once lifted, they didn’t use any toning at all so they came out quite brassy.I could live with that as it’s easily fixed, but it continued to get worse.The teacher/supervisor then WOULDN’T LET ME have the hair cut I wanted. You read that right!I usually ask for long layers with face framing.She told me that ‘all one length is fashionable now’ and that layered styles are ‘dated and nineties’.I’m sorry, what?!?! I’m in my 30s, I don’t care what’s popular with the kids - I like what I like and no decent stylist would refuse service based on their personal preference. Absolutely shocking.I should have argued the point but hate confrontation so just let them crack on, knowing I’d be getting it fixed by a qualified professional ASAP.Took forever and couldn’t wait to get out of there!Yes a real salon is expensive, but it’s absolutely worth the money. Be very careful!EDIT: Wow, that response below just sums it up, doesn’t it? How bloody rude! I’m fully aware it’s a training salon, hence use of the words ‘student’ and ‘teacher’ throughout. The reception staff who were rude and messed up the booking were not students.The woman who refused my haircut as it was ‘dated’ was also not a student - she was a teacher/supervisor as stated.Maybe the ‘educational nature’ needs a bit more focus, eg. learning to read.

Trainee didn't wash hair properly as afterwards it's was all itchy and kept missing cuts so at one point instructor had to take over

I booked for half-head highlights and cut. The highlights were yellowy, didn't reach the roots (so it looked like I still had about a month of regrowth) and were too sparse. The stylish took so long on them, there wasn't time for my haircut.I was assured by the supervisor I could rebook to have the issue corrected free of charge but my emails and calls were ignored.

Lovely place and very friendly people the student's work hard to achieve they're goal had my hair done here for a few years always came out with new hair syle and dyed and feeling much better in myself i would recommend the place to my friends and family
