Very nicely done. New buildings and clean. Easy to get to and park. Walking distance of birmingham town centre. Great for access to amenities for students.

Place looks perfect for students. Not much greenery, but this is central Birmingham! Details from Unite are thorough, but driving here isn't easy.

I have mixed feelings about this student accommodation.I would not want to live here for more than a 10 months.Starting with the positive aspects, the house is located directly on the Aston Campus. This means short ways to the University and Library, but also a short distance to the city. Buying a bus ticket is probably not needed for the majority of the students.A further positive point is that it is clean. The kitchen gets cleaned every 2 weeks and also floors are clean, it's easy to dispose of the trash. The Unite Student reception is very friendly, they help you in the most matters. If something must be fixed in the flat, they help you very fast. Now the negative things:Sometimes the key cards don't work. Especially on the doors outside. This means that you can get trapped in the inner courtyard. I see a big problem in terms of fire safety standard here. Also it can be impossible to get out of the building without a key card. Especially if you have guest this is annoying. There are no door bells, so you have come down and open the door for your guests instead of pushing a button. The second big negative point are the washing machines. The are extremely expensive (at least 3£) and not reliable. They often don't work properly. Completely wet clothes and not cleaned clothes are not a rarity.Furthermore the app for the machines doesn't work all the time. The most annoying point is the noise level though. A lot of students mean a big source of noise. Drunk, aggressive students come home, scream, smoke and argue before the entry, to every time of the day. Every day of the week.If you have bad luck and live directly next to a entry, you can have extreme noise for the whole night. The next point is that the flats are not cosy. No couches, small beds in the rooms and a loveless furniture. Living here doesn't feel like home. The last point is the price: 131£ per week is quite expensive for Birmingham standards. Considering the size of the rooms and the missing of a separate living, it is too expensive. Conclusion:Living here in you first year is ok, but for my part, I can't imagine living here for more than one year. I would prefer a house or a flat with an own washing machine, a cosy living room and a quiet location. The living experience is of caused mainly influenced by the flat mates. Luckily I had nice flat mates in my time here.

I have often flippantly thought whether I would it would not commit suicide. If the windows on this accommodation opened properly I would definitely have tried to 'fly' from my room. I stopped myself however as the street pizza I would have left wouldn't have been cleaned and it would have added to the morass that was already present.

Living in this accommodation has been / is an awful experience. If you are a first year student, don't get scammed into living here or with UNITE students at all. I live in B1 James Watt. After seeing barely any reviews, I thought this would be a good place to live as there is only first year Aston University students here. The location itself is good as it's on campus and there are small shops nearby for food. That's about all that's good. The building itself is currently under construction during the winter, they are stripping all the insulation meaning your flat will be literally freezing. Radiators barely function and cannot be turned on till its deemed cold enough". It is below 0 and they barely work. All rooms are drafty

Nice on the outside. Supposedly cleaned kitchen. Fridges smell. Floor sticky. Microwave with no life. Table full of blown plastic bubbles. Bedrooms with wear and tear. Mattress barely supportive. Not worth the rent yet.

The positives are that for ~£140+ p/w you get the convenience of living on campus, utility bill free, with fellow first years who you may (or may not) make friends with.In my experience, it's been very messy and uncomfortable. The kitchen has been a tip for most of my time here and almost everynight countless strangers have entered the flat, stealing my food and making noise.I struggle to see where the money goes apart from the excessive heating in winter and hot water you receive 90% of the time you shower. Maybe the bills are that high they can't afford water that other 10%?. I also think a great deal of money is probably spent on repairing the 'security gate' on a weekly basis which is so slow anyone can walk through it on the few days it has been working this year. The communal areas, that being the lifts and spaces between flats, is cleaned occasionally with the most disgusting smelling cleaning spray on earth. But at least they clear up the smashed glass and other rubbish (such as dropped kebabs) you may have to venture over on the way to your morning lectures. My kitchen was also cleaned randomly once after an inspection granted our kitchen a complete mess.Overall, if you want to make mess, noise and bring strangers into your flat this is definitely the place for you and I think you'd fit in here but if you want somewhere clean, quiet and comfortable you may want to look elsewhere.

One of the many flats stayed in and can say as student flats go defiantly up there, plenty of room, facilities as standard and nearly all have nice en suites

Is very good especially on the higher floors where you get excellent views! Good facilities & quality as well. Only real problem is some rooms have a very poor view...
