I had a very good experience here today, booked online and was made to feel relaxed and Shauny really knew her stuff! She was extremely knowledgeable and even offered to show me how to use all my hair styling tools if I brought them in! Never has a hairdresser been so helpful! Highly recommend x

I have my hair cut and coloured by Emma at The Glossary. Emma never disappoints and she always knows how to make my hair look and feel amazing. The salon is beautiful as well as being eco friendly and sustainable. Highly recommend!!

Friendly local salon. I have been going there for a good few years now and I have an allergy to hair colour the stylists I see is very careful and precise when doing my hair. Staff are very friendly and would high recommend the salon.

The owner is an awful, wretched, argumentative. . She’s all polite on the phone quoted me £100 for colour then charged £160 as they had to put toner on as my hair turned bright orange. It’s now too dark and falling out because of the bleach and processing. 30 extra for toner even though every other salon charges £10.No care, no listening to the customer, no resolution when things go wrong. Just plonk some colour on and charge extortionate amounts.The worst of the worst only interested in money not service or quality.

I was donating my hair, the plait was ‘cut’… then I had my hair washed, ‘cut’ and ‘straightened’. The plait was not cut exactly how I imagined and asked for but I trusted the hairdresser (Nicky). After washing my hair, it needed to be tidied and for my layers to be put in. Once she’d finished I asked for a photo to be taken so I could show that my donation was complete. It was when I left I looked at the photo to see the back of my hair was left like a line graph (not one length at all and was very choppy). I then went back in and politely expressed my concerns which she dismissed but finally she said she would tidy it up for me which resulted in more being cut off. Though in this process she was very forceful (pulling my hair and digging her hands in) and blaming my hair for being curly, though she straightened it so it shouldn’t have been curly if done correctly. I went home and notice it was still so uneven with layers only in one half of my hair and all I asked for was a tidy up after the donation and for some long layers to be put back in. So I went back the next day and again polite expressed that my hair was not even at all in length and only had layers in one half of my hair and she was insisting it was fine and then asked Shauny to check her work. Thankfully Shauny agreed with my concerns and offered to fix my hair. She was lovely and fixed my hair which meant lining it up with the short bit and I was refunded 2/5 of the total price. I am very gutted that the original mistake resulted in me losing way more length in my hair, I did not get an apology from Nicky, and this awful experience still cost me £30. I am thankful to Shauny for being lovely.

Visited The Glossary for the first time today. I had a cut and finish with Rhianne. A friendly bright and clean salon providing a relaxed, enjoyable experience.Thank you Rhianne I am really pleased with my very neat trim and smooth blow dry. The Davines hair products are lovely - my hair smells amazing and feels very soft and shiny too. See you soon !

A very confusing salon experience - I rarely do these types of reviews, it's taken months but I thought I should voice my experience here as it was just peculiar! I booked over the phone for a hair cut on the 9th May at 4pm and when I got to the salon it was lovely and gorgeous, it's been years since I last had my hair cut since the pandemic so I was really looking forward to get my hair washed and feel pampered. The lady who had rose golden hair in braids, started brushing my hair and I was standing up at this point. I thought she was brushing the knots out before I was taken to get my hair washed. There was no real chat about what I wanted and the lady got straight to work chopping off the dead ends. I managed to ask her to trim my bangs a bit but again I was standing the whole time, no tea or coffee. I was the only customer in the salon and it was just strange - there were two members of staff the lady cutting my hair and there was another lady watching in the background. The lady wasn't rude at all but it all felt rushed with none of the nice salon experience I was really looking forward to. I specifically searched the whole area looking for a eco-friendly salon but now I am left disappointed and just let down by this. I also left the salon without a blow dry or styling what so ever - so so disappointed!

Booked my daughter in for her birthday. They were very professional from the outset. Good friendly service and very welcoming on arrival. Hair stylist treated my daughter like a princess.The salon is very well presented with a very good atmosphere. It's clean and fresh and not too noisy, which is a welcoming change from some salons.My daughter was very pleased with the end result.

16 year old daughter wanted her hair coloured. Wife was told no more than £100 on the phone so made an appointment. My daughter went in and got her hair done and was never told that there would extra costs, and was then charged £165. This was unexpected to her, but she was too scared to argue. It emptied her bank account.When I spoke to the manager she said that she hadn't explained the extra costs to my daughter but she would get a free hair treatment next time, but no refund. Personally I feel she was taken advantage of and ripped off. My daughter does like the job they did but is quite upset about the extra costs and the fact she has no money left. I most certainly would not recommend this place.
