It is a small museum but the volunteers are so nice and willing to share everything with you actively, feel free to ask any questions and you will find they almost know everything. They make me want to learn and study more than from the classes. There are the mummies, specimen & fossil that you are able to touch(mole is so cute and smooth), living insects, microscopes in Victorian age...... also a wonderful garden that you can enjoy your lunch in it.

Brilliant day out! We loved it so much and didnt realise we'd ended up spending the whole day there! It is ran by volunteers, all of which are incredibly passionate and knowledgeable. Their enthusiasm is so infectious, we could have listened to them all for days.We especialy liked the lady who talked to us about Egypt and Keith, who I just loved but made the subject of butterflies so interesting, i didnt want him to stop talking!I loved the curiosity cupboard too. There is so much to see/touch and learn here. What an absolute gem this place is, with brilliant and kind volunteers who make it extra special.Cant thank them enough for our visit. One of the best places we've been to :)

I was attending a conference that was being hosted at the Bournemouth Natural Science Society. It is housed in a lovely building and is jam packed with artefacts. Obviously, there was a strong natural history bias in the items on show, but there is something for everyone. The collection is eclectic, while mostly UK based there are New Zealand and Oz species in cases too. Whilst it is an older building, it may not be the most upto date in terms of its layout and services but has bags of character.

Loved it! So much history and the staff were really knowledgeable about their specialist subjects. Lovely people. They've got some really cool stuff here, I held a tarantula and a cockroach...it's free to go in but I really recommend making a £10 donation for a family - it keeps the place going and the exhibits can be preserved. It's well worth it. We actually ran out of time to look at everything ❤️

An absolute gem of Bournemouth. The volunteers are wonderful and so informative. We had a wonderful time and learnt so much. Bournemouth should have pride in this museum it’s absolutely wonderful. No entrance fee but we made a donation, it’s better than pay to enter places. Small yes but packed with so many interesting things

This place is a must if you're visiting Bournemouth. Fascinating museum. Stuffed full of displays. I never fail to learn something new here. The staff are incredible. They have expert knowledge and are passionate about their specialties. They do a range of talks and family events. Probably the best indoor attraction in Bournemouth. Free admission! Carpark onsite.
