Carrie Burke Tutor Work

Carrie was absolutely brilliant. Our son went to her for tutoring for the St Ambrose exam late as we didn’t realise how long they were supposed to tutor for, however, Carrie caught him up and he passed the exam and is now starting there in September. Her work approach with him was amazing and she encouraged and supported him all the way through. We couldn’t have done it without her. Would highly recommend! Thanks Carrie

I can not recommend Carrie enough. She has been absolutely outstanding in understanding our daughters needs and helping us find the right way to move forwards. Highly recommend working with Carrie and her team of tutors. We started to work with Catherine once a week during home-schooling lockdown as we could see the stress our daughter felt when faced with maths. She has definitely become more confident and no longer panics when faced with maths work. Her school teachers have remarked how well she is doing and we believe this is down to the additional support she has received.

Carrie has helped both my children recover from their pandemic lost learning and go on and feel confident about how to approach their SATS and 11+. Every tutor session has been fun, challenging & inclusive and both my children look forward to their sessions. My son said it was so much easier to concentrate than in school! Carrie has been a fantastic tutor for our son over the last few months. She has been helping him specifically with entrance exam preparation and I genuinely don't think he would have done as well without her. She has made him feel much more confident about the exams and helped him with technique and exam prep skills. I’m prompted to leave this review after being asked to recommend a tutor for a classmate of one of our children. (Sorry for the delay in doing so, Carrie!)Our daughter went to Carrie Burke for entrance exam preparation and to help her develop her study skills. She could have been a tough customer, given that she would often come home from a perfectly good primary school and ask, in effect, “Why do I already know everything they teach?” With Carrie’s guidance, she started to realise that quite often the premise of that question was not true, and that even on the days when it was, there was still plenty to learn!We really noticed the maturing attitude to learning, both in feedback from school and in her willingness to do the work set by Carrie and give up her Monday evenings for the weekly tutoring sessions. The sweets had nothing to do with it, I’m sure ;-)And, most importantly for her, she won a place at the school she had set her heart on, and is thriving there, despite a pace of learning that was a bit of a culture shock at first. Thank you!
