Beautiful walk. View from the top was lovely. Rather steep but well worth the trek!

If you're passing along the A38 (in either direction), it's well worth diverting in to Brent Knoll village to see the hill fort for yourself. The hill fort is a steady climb from the churchyard, but not arduous. When you get to the top, there are amazing 360 degree views ... which is obviously why it was a hill fort.Apparently. it was an occupied site from about 2,000 BC. Romans, Britons, Saxons, and Danes have all laid claim over the ages. There are no visible structures up there to see now, just the grass-mounded remains of foundations. However, you won't be disappointed, as the views are worth the time and climb. On a good day, you can see Glastonbury Tor, and some of the other hill sites in the surrounding areas. Our ancient hillforts and castles are dotted across Somerset. Stop in and see one. Get some fresh air and a bit of exercise and take in the magnificent views.Brent Knoll Hill Fort is completely free to visit and is presided over by the National Trust. Of course, you can even bring your dog up there.

Well worth the effort. There is a small car park and it’s probably about a 20 minute walk to the top.Fantastic views.I would image in winter or after heavy rain it could be a bit slippery walking up.Some of the steps at the top have been washed away.We went with the expectation of having a picnic, but it was far too windy, even though there was little wind at the bottom.

ive been meaning to walk Brent Knoll hill for a little while now. i had a challenging day at work and needed to get out so i headed for Brent Knoll. There is a small car park at the top of Church lane. just before the turning i found a public toilet. with a small car park. it was very clean and tidy. i continued to Church lane. got to the top of the hill and on the left opisite the entrance for the Brent Knoll hill walk is the car park. if you park here look to your right over a gate as you leave the cat park. you'll never guess what you might see. The public path took me past a farm house. with a chatty rooster. I kept to the right and started walking. the path follows the edge of a field. It turns left then the Hill began. its quite a steep climb. mostly loose soil pathway and has a few sections of wooden steps. through a gate and before long i reached the top. the last bit of the climb goes up some wooden steps and took me straight to the top. It was a clear day and the views are amazing. i could see the Bristol channel. Hinkley point. Brean down and even Glastonbury Tor. The top of the hill is a big dip. which does a good job at breaking the wind. as i sat on the hill top near the small monument i could feel the stress from the previous working day fade away. i walked 5000 steps and found it a lovely walk offering some amazing views.

I was really lucky to have had a clear sunny day because the views were amazing. You could see for miles and miles in every direction. I can really appreciate a good view. The walk up only took several minutes and was not very hard. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. There is plenty of free parking on the side of the road near by. Good for people on there own, couples and families with children.

Parked just past the church for this short walk. Path is clearly marked, steep and slippy in places but the 360 degree views at the top are well worth it.

What breathtaking views from the top of Brent Knoll Camp. There are the Mendips to the north, Glastonbury Tor peaks out to the east, Burnham-on-Sea on the coast to the west and miles of the leaves in-between.There is a small lane going up the hill Hill Lane" that is easily to miss. Ones up there the public footpath is clearly marked and easy to follow. It can be quite windy up there and good shoes are strongly recommend. The Iron Age Hill Fort is pretty big and is still visible by its outer earth wall. It's all grassy and overgrown
