Highland Spirit Tours - Speyside Whisky

My brother and I booked a tour with Highland Spirit Tours as we came from the States and really wanted to maximize our day and learn (and drink) as much as possible! From the initial emails to the very end of the tour, Duncan was such a professional and extremely kind. Incredibly knowledgeable, he gave some tips on which whiskeys to ask to try, which whiskeys that aren't exported to the States, and generally took very good care of us. Even had a nice picnic lunch. We squeezed in 2 tastings and 3 distillery tours and Duncan made sure to manage the timing for us. Highly recommend!

SO happy Duncan has started giving Speyside tours again. A group of 3 of us booked him for a very full day driving around the Speyside area. Communication prior to our arrival was regular and prompt. We had several suggestions from friends and Duncan easily incorporated these into a really well spaced out day of learning, drinking whiskey, and seeing some of the gorgeous countryside. Highly recommend if you are staying in the Moray area!

I can`t say enough about Duncan and Highland Spirit Tours. Not only is he highly knowledgeable about Speyside distilleries, he shared a ton of interesting information about local history and events as well. He is a great tour guide all around :-) Duncan made great recommendations in addition to the specific tours we requested. Even better, when we wanted to make adjustments to our original agenda, he accommodated us on the fly. Be prepared to relax and enjoy yourselves as Duncan takes care of the planning, the driving, and the snacks. :-) Well done and highly recommend.

Hands down, one of the most memorable and amazing tours we've ever had. Duncan is highly knowledgeable being a local, is extremely organised, polite and very friendly. He basically made us feel like VIPs throughout the tour. I really wanted to visit 'The Macallan' but unfortunately they were closed for renovations. But before heading to our planned tour, Duncan went above and beyond by still taking us there with his special contacts to show us around the new site and to our surprise gave me some very special Macallan merchandise he bought specially for me as he knew how disappointed I was when I heard Macallan will be closed during our visit! I would absolutely highly recommend him and no matter where you come from, rest assured in Duncan's company - an absolute legend!

My father and I hired Duncan for a private whisky tour and couldn't be happier with the experience! Duncan is kind, patient and knowledgeable, answering any and all questions we had throughout the day. He even sent a follow up email to answer a couple more questions and provided links to various scotch to try and events to look out for. I would recommend his services to anyone who wants to enjoy a day of sight and whisky tasting without having the hassle of planning it yourself. Duncan will take care of everything!

Duncan puts on a great tour. We did the one day 5 distillery tour. It was a full day around Speyside that Duncan made particularly interesting for his knowledge of the history of the area, the distilleries and the whisky. Between distilleries, we did lots of side trips to historical points or walks on the many walking bridges over the River Spey. Duncan surprised us with an awesome deli lunch, threw in an extra distillery stop, and we finished up the day taking pictures with friendly Heeland coos". Awesome day. Will definitely book with Duncan again the next time we're Speyside."

This was a wonderful experience for my wife and I. Duncan was very knowledgable on, and well connected with the distilleries we visited. He made our experience so much the better by being flexible and accommodating with our desires to see some of the local attractions as well as the distilleries. Duncan was an excellent guide full of local lore and great recommendations for food and accommodation . Impeccable and clean transport, on time and professional.

We had an awesome time with Duncan during a 2-day Speyside tour. Our experience with Duncan was just awesome - from pre-trip arrangements and coordinating which distilleries to visit, prompt pickup, clean and comfortable vehicle, great advice and anecdotes as we toured around. His recommendations were spot on and he really hustled to make sure we had a great experience. The trip really helped improve my knowledge and appreciation for the spirit and was truly memorable.
