Maeshyfryd Cemetery
I've wanted to visit this place for some time.It contains a memorial to the men of HMS Thetis, who were lost when it sunk in 1939 on it's maiden voyage; amongst those was my great-uncle.The men are listed alphabetically, and there is no distinction between the men of the Royal Navy, and the civilian workmen that had been invited to join them. The memorial is a substantial structure and can be seen from the main road. There are some other war graves next to the memorial. The cemetery is a quiet, dignified place, and a suitable spot for the memorial of such a tragic event.
