I don’t normally do reviews but I thought I’d make an exception my self and my son and two daughters also my sons girlfriend have all brought cars here adding up to 7 cars over the years from hamster motor company and have never had any problems always good value for money and totally reliable .would totally recommend to anyone wanting a reliable car under £2500

bought a car from here and noticed something was wrong with the clutch a couple of days after getting the car. The car juddered whenever pulling away in first gear/lifting the clutch. The car came with a 'one month warranty', so I took it back and explained the problem. The man who owns the place test drove my car and said it was a normal thing that older cars can do and a lot of the other cars he's selling do the same thing. He then blamed it on me possibly resting my foot on the clutch while driving (which I don't do). So anyway, he refused to look into it because of the reasons above. I ended up taking the car back to him 3-4 times because I wasn't happy with this juddering. There was clearly something wrong! I even took it to a garage who confirmed that something was wrong with the clutch. Basically, the guy who owns this cowboy dealership didn't want to pay for a new clutch. And oh guess what happened? The clutch went on the way to work and I had to fork out for a new one. The garage who fitted the new clutch said the old clutch was a botch job with a cheap clutch AND there were loose bolts inside a certain part of the clutch. DON'T BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. He is not honest, you may end up with a dodgy car!

When my dad was alive he recommended Steve, as he had brought his cars from him, we have had about 3 cars from Steve over the years and haven't had any problems,nice guy and very helpful.

These guys sold us a faulty mini. It sat on my dad's driveway for a few weeks before I could collect it... on the drive back from Southend to London we noticed black smoke coming from the exhaust, so I took it straight to my local garage to get checked out. He basically told us it wasn't worth doing all the work that it needed and advised we get our money back to due to the multitude of issues. Unfortunately Hamstel motor company refused to take it back, instead forcing my dad to return the car via buy back, costing him £500 in the process. The whole thing was really sad and stressful. If you're thinking of buying a car from them I would be extremely cautious.

Bought a car which developed a fault after 180 miles. Steve refused to honour his legal obligations to repair the fault. Didn’t want to know. It’s a shame as I live close by and wanted to use a local tradesman you can trust. Unfortunately this is not the place.
