1940's blitz event with live reenactment, live music, and tanks with working engines. A trench that takes you back in time, opportunity to experience fox holes and shelters. There are plenty of picnic tables, refreshments, and a little play area. What a fantastic day out for all ages to learn about history.

Fantastic experience! Took the whole family and we all had a great time. My 3 year old son loved the play area especially the tank slide. We met a volunteer called Rich who was absolutely fantastic. He opened up the tanks for us to take a look inside and recommend us a nice place to eat after finding out we wasn't local. We'll be back again in the summer.

A small museum dedicated to what was staffordshire regiment.Car parking free.Small fee to enter.Staff willing to talk about history and conflicts involved in and will help if have relatives were once part of regiment.Lots of information on boards and very interesting to see history from origins to present day amalgamations. To note no cafe during week but outside is a canteen open at weekends I believe but seating outside.Armoured vehicles outside impressive and trench replicas and ammo stores and quarters outside you can walk through excellant.Gunfire and recorded info points add to the exp.Quiet reflective walk through small copse afterwards with info boards about acts of heroism both reflective and well done

A great day out. Paid about £6 for an adult entry. Interesting small museum detailing the history of the Staffordshire regiments through all the major conflicts up to present day. So many interesting artefacts from medals to equipment uniforms to artillery. So many fascinating objects in all of displays. A museum well set out and extremely interesting. Included in the admission price is access to mock trenches which are a real eye opener to what the soldiers must have experienced in WW1. There is plenty of information to educate you and also added sound effects! The trail through the woodland area although small has some fascinating information and also incredible stories on the various soldiers throughout WW1 & WW2. There is a lovely memorial to the fallen which then leads onto the WW2 static displays of a pillbox and Anderson shelter. The Air raid shelter also has the sound effects of an air raid which is quite unnerving to be honest! The museum staff are very friendly and helpful. I bought a picnic as there is not a permanent cafe. There are plenty of places to sit with a picnic. Parking was free and ample. There is even a small play area if you have children. The shop is small but you can purchase soft drinks and small toys and sweets. All in all a good day. Informative, enjoyable and quite reasonably priced.

Visited with my 4 year old. It was amazing the museum is small but very interesting with lots of artifacts. The outside areas were brilliant, especially the trench set up and children's play area. Very entertaining for people with a passing interesting and history buffs alike. The staff really make the experience special. Very friendly and knowledgeable. My little boy loved the armoury bit holding the guns etc and no question went unanswered. Will definitely return.

We had a fabulous afternoon here at the WW2 weekend. The reenactors were knowledgeable and clearly passionate about their subjects. They also had a firing range, which I was delighted to have a go at (and was super happy at my target results!).The WW1 trenches are extremely atmospheric (I got shivers going into the mining tunnel) and it gives a good impression of what it must have been like for the men in the trenches during WW1.The museum itself is full of interesting artefacts as well as personal histories of the people those items belonged to.I had a mishap with a broken phone (glass splinter in my finger!) and the first aid staff on duty were superb. We are sure to return.

What a great little museum! Loads of stuff to see inside but the trenches outside are fabulous - really have an insight into what it must have been like. Would definitely recommend!

Good value, once you pay your entry fee of £6 you can go in for a year for free. Very interesting with some very good exhibitions outside, especially the trenches and very pleasant staff.
