We thought training a puppy would be a walk in the park. Unexpectedly, our mini schnauzer Heidi decided she was going to bark like mad at any dog that came into her sight. This behaviour started at a puppy training class that we did elsewhere - their solution was to set up barriers around her and isolate her from other dogs. After 4 weeks, we went home feeling deflated - holding a completion certificate but with no solution to our dog’s reactivity issue.We were very lucky to find Professional Dog Advice & Training online. From the very first class, we knew we were in good hands. With about 20 dogs around, Heidi was at first uncontrollable, until the trainer stepped in and calmly instructed her. It was like a miracle, but also so simple - she just needed to be told what she could and couldn’t do.Week after week, Heidi has made amazing progress. She now sits, lies down, and walks on a loose lead, even with other dogs nearby. Basically, this training works! If you have a puppy, don’t even think about going anywhere else.The trainers have been brilliant with advice, reassurance and guidance and have been very generous with their time - we really owe them a lot.Thanks a million to Lee, Ian, Kian and the rest of the team at Keepers Cottage.Every day is a school day - see you next week!Fionn, Nicola & Heidi

Took my 8 month Newfoundland pup to Lee yesterday he has worked wonders highly recommend thanks so much big big difference with her today

Absolutely brilliant, straight talking trainer Lee has really helped us to turn a corner with our young Rottie who has behavioural issues towards other dogs. His advice on how to bond with Cujo properly is definitely paying off and how to deal with Cujo's over exuberance has given me confidence in handling him. He's set us on the right path at the assessment and look forward to the weekly classes. I have every faith in Lee's training techniques because the advice we're following is producing great results with Cujo and myself already.

My DDB Keira loves going to Dog school...trainer Ian is really proffesional and knows his stuff..i love going myself seeing all the other dogs and watching them progress..good to talk to other dog owners aswell...thank you ian...your amazing...stay strong...jill x x x

1st day training today.Lee was brilliantCalmed our excited pup down within minutes of us being there.Told us what we was doing wrong.Very knowledgeable.The pup is like a new dog.We cannot thank Lee enough.Cannot wait for next week.Thanks Lee.

Highly recommend for reactive dogs. We have done 121 and into the lessons and the change in our dog is amazing. Lee knows his stuff. Here she is actually relaxing around other dogs. Unthinkable 6 weeks ago.

Excellent trainers who specialise in challenging dogs. All levels and abilities catered for. No nonsense dog training, perfect for all people and all dogs! Can't recommend them enough- I'd never seek an alternative trainer.They also offer continual progression from puppy stage to adult. Or in my experience with a rescue; potentially very dangerous dog, converted with expert guidance: to a well balanced and managed dog. Exceeding my expectations being able to be off lead and under control.Please seek them and use their experience with all issues and ages. If you have a puppy or plan too; use them from day 1!

I can't praise, Ian, Lee and the rest of the team for both their advice and the training they provide.They are exceptionally talented in what they do, they are very direct in what they say and do, but you can tell that they genuinely love dogs and want the best for them and their ownersI have had a one to one session with my two dogs (who incidentally are not bad dogs, they are really well behaved but just don't like each other any more) and attended two group sessions on Sunday with just my younger dog (she's the one with the issue) and I can already see a difference. I have been given advice on how to try to introduce them to each other gradually and we are making a start on doing this.I would not hesitate to recommend Rainford training and advice, in fact if you have a dog, I would encourage you to take your dog to them

Had an hour consultation with Lee, we have had a couple of different trainers in the past and this was by far the most informative and productive session we've had. Everything was explained to us why our dog acts as he does, and what we need to practice. Look forward to getting involved with the classes. Highly recommend!
